Hi folks,
My Brand NEW MFG Crosswinds V3 is not recognised in the SIM, it comes up with a question mark ?, the other devices work fine such as the Honeycomb Alpha
I have calibrated it via the software included and windows Setup USB Game Controllers shows the MFG fine and working all ok as the other peripherals also.
I use a Honeycomb Yoke and that works fine but the crosswinds is dead in the sim, any ideas of things I need to try guys please.
There are expensive and of course I want to get them going in the sim.
Please let me know if you can suggest anything to get them working, thank you in advance!
The question mark is just because theyāre not recognised as having a default profile.
Change the filter on the left hand side from Assigned to Essentials and you should see the list of input bindings. Use the search box to find the rudder axis and bind it accordingly, then do likewise for the toe brakes.
This whole UI is badly designed. I remember it taking me ages to figure out initially, despite using sims for over 25 years.

Also, in the dialog to assign the axes you must click on on āSTART SCANNINGā and then move the appropriate control. Why they didnāt make it do that automatically Iāve no idea.

when I press the toe brake the rudder still moves?
the toes brakes are rudder axis left and right, I am assuming this is incorrect?
is it left brake axis and right brake axis?
ok perfect thanks so very much, they arfe just somewhat very sensive now lol, ill look that up thanks so much!!
If you havenāt got it already, I can recommend that hydraulic damper with the v3ās. Iāve had mine now for about three weeks, having moved from a v2 for the last seven years. It feels much nicer now, and was very easy to fit as well.

Iāve been torn between getting the Crosswind V3 and waiting for the Honeycomb Charlie pedals. My ancient CH Pro Pedals are getting a bit long in the tooth. Glad to hear you like the Crosswind.
Brakes feel good?

Yes, and fully adjustable. Gap between the pedals, toe on or toe out, angle of the foot rests, firmness by way of a main spring, and now a hydraulic damper with 21 settings.
If you like having the main spring quite tight, it will help with stopping that flop when pushing left to right. I went with a slightly looser spring, and slightly more damping.
They also come with a programming app where you can set the centre point, dead zones etc.
As I said, the v2ās are 7 years old now, and look, and feel like the day I bought them.

Ok my Rudders work perfect but they are way too sensitive in throwing around a 747 like a toy lol, which is the correct way, software to add sensitivity into the Rudders ?
You can adjust the sensitivity in the sim. Go into the Options/Controls page, find the rudder pedals, then click on Sensitivity at the top left.
In here, find your rudder axis by moving the pedals left to right so you can see which one you need to adjust, the move the sensitivity slider to the left until it feels right. It might take multiple visits to that page.

There are different mapping options available also.
It may be worth checking that you have chosen to map an āanalogueā axis type to your rudder axis rather than the rudder control option that would be suitable for binding to a keyboard keystroke.
If correctly mapped to the actual axis option then you should see a white bar moving in the controls menu when testing.

i had the same, watiing for the honeycomb charlie. but you see, honeycomb had to stop production of alpha and bravo temporarily due to chip cirisis. so in near future i guess there will be no new product, they do not even have parts for the exiisting products.
so prepare yourself for a wait until next year.
i jumped to Thrustmaster TPR, great product, think another level than the (probably good) crosswinds. native support in all sims.
cheers!
Yes which it most certainly does, the UI isnāt terribly user friendly
It maybe better but the Crosswind is outstanding, donāt need to do better than what I consider perfect for me!
