Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

Patch 3 is worse and buggier for me than patch 2. FPS for 4k has dropped from 60 in 4k to 33.

Flight Simulator 2024 is the Windows Vista of games and will take another 3 months to fix which will take us to the end of Q1. :broken_heart:

For my own mental health and energy, I will stick to 2020 which runs like butter, still looks gorgeous maxed out, has no pop-in and 3rd party mods work perfectly.

To me, it looks like most (if not all) the fixes in this patch were already in the pipeline at release. This is why so many minor faults were in the release, and many major faults untouched.

We will probably have to wait several weeks/months before they start looking at the newly reported bugs (i.e. bugs they did not know about at release, rather than the bugs they knew about but didn’t have time to fix at release).

We’re in for a long, hard winter.

I may actually do the same, I did try though

We are talking about on Xbox though, what do you expect it to be? How often are you focusing on stuff that is 200m away when you are 4000ft AGL?

What can be 200m away on an altitude of 4000 ft ?

You serius? Just like in 2020?! A draw distance to the Horizon. My eyes in Real life could look miles and still See 3d. They promised us a better performance on 2024, remember?

I cannot press escape while flying to go to settings or end the flight, not sure what I’m doing wrong here

Are you in VR?

Yeah and it costs Real money that we pay and we are working Real Jobs for that money.

I’m making less money on long haul medium cargo flights than I was before the patch.

The patch has broken career missions, you cant walk around the aircraft.

First of all THANKS to all the programmers, getting this patch out. I do see some improvements. :handshake:

…BUT…

I thought you mentioned, you were testing the PC24??? Really???
None moving switches, right engine lever always on 100% and not even going into the avionics. Sorry, but this looks for me like a joke, although at least the plane might be usable for the career mode.

I do have the impression as if someone just fixed to most obvious and didn’t had time to truly go over all the issues or even take 10 minutes in the cockpit and go over the checklist, due to immense workload on so many other issues.

I feel like a beta tester, having to pay to be able to do so.

Call me one of the ā€œblessedā€, but this update works just great on my machine. Thanks Asobo devs…

It is and I was fully supportive of MS and Asobo and hoped they would do their job, I wasn’t on the negative bandwagon before the game was even launched. I realistically expected problems at launch but never too this magnitude, there is no hiding from the fact that this game is broken. I’m very happy for you pointing out a previous supportive post, I’m sure it brought you much joy :+1:

I don’t know if it’s the same issue on PC as well but you walk 10-15 metres away from an airport worker and he turns into a Minecraft figure.
Not sure if that falls under LOD, but in any case the graphics/LOD are dialled back way too much on the xbox, at least for the series x.

Totally NOT usable in VR for me, Community folder emptied and VR a giant stuttering mess. Still no toolbar in VR. I can’t believe it. PC user, I must be doing something wrong, it can’t really be this bad.

I believe ā€œcertifyingā€ was the word they used. It was being ā€œcertifiedā€, not just ā€œtestedā€.

Of course they did neither.

This is Asobo. It’s their calling card. Bug filled patches that don’t fix what they promise while adding new problems.

In free flight I am able to start the plane, not so in career mode. Very frustrating.
