Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

All my assistances were reset with this update and my control bindings. This is so frustrating.

They could insert a comma after the first “1”, if you’d agree to them removing the first “5”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Such a great first patch. Fixed a lot of issues, there are still many left, but nonetheless a good start and major improvement.

Photogrammetry trees have always looked terrible, both in 2020 and 2024.

The non-photogrammetry trees have never looked better, and are vastly better looking than 2020’s trees.

I think you’ll find there are many people gaming on PC’s less powerful than a Series X.

You should hope Asobo doesn’t have to lower settings and graphics just so it works on low end PC’s
Oh wait, there are already options in the sim to do that.

Up for an experiment? Next time when that happens, could you maybe try clearing the StreamedPackages folder?

I don’t have this problem myself btw, it loads pretty fast, especially compared to 2020.

Hi! I play on Xbox Series X and the game runs fine. The graphics are truly amazing and the gaming experience is very realistic. I set the button assignment on the controller myself and the planes are perfectly controllable, but it took time. Since the patch, terrains load faster and the game seems more stable. After each patch, I reinstall the entire game and set the rolling cache to 100GB.

The only negative is the complexity of the controller’s button assignment in the menu, this should be improved with a much more transparent and logical design, for example with several pre-prepared controller configurations that can be easily chosen even by beginner players. It can still be solved at the moment, but it takes about hours. It would be important to improve this, because it is of key importance that everyone can easily adjust the controls for each aircraft.

The game is basically awesome, I look forward to more updates!

I agree. Some people at the top who messed up badly need to go.

The game runs “fine”, but I really see no reason to discard msfs2020 in favor of 2024. The 2020 version is still absolutely 98% superior.

Just tried doing that and made no difference, got stuck at 5% Loading language yet again.

I was loading every single time into the main menu in under 2 minutes prior to the patch. It is 100% the patch that has caused this for me

I don’t have any problems with the loading times - until this patch
Yesterday I flew normally, with several tools and addons, working great, with a few sound dropouts as reported elsewhere, today after the update (even after restarting) infinitely long loading times (I haven’t changed anything on the system since yesterday) and finally in the menu, flight started@ EDDF and had massive stutters followed by sound dropouts.
7950x3D, 64GB RAM, 4090 RTX, All SSD’s one just for addons linked and removed before update)
will just reinstall the MSFS again tomorrow

Thank you for getting what I’m saying. This has nothing to do with being anti console and pro PC
 I too have both.

@Nikita I agree with your comment, too – my point, selfishly, is I don’t want to see this sim get downgraded just to fit Xbox platforms, similar to how upset people got with SU5 in MSFS 2020 and the graphics degradation that we had for at least a year until they ‘fixed’ it. That’s all I’m saying.

They should have two different ports; would help lower end systems and would please higher end systems who have the performance and space to afford it

yes, this is big annoyance , restarting this title takes several minutes. I also wish we can enter a flight plan through the electronic briefcase . A inibuild issue only.

I am a PC user. (7800X3D + 4070 + 32Gb DDR5). And I just wanted to write words of support to all the guys with XBOX and VR as a sign of solidarity! We’re all in the same boat. And we don’t have any oars

i totally agree with you

It would appear that the Navigraph Hub has a couple of modules that have updates available. This fixed it for me.

The toolbar issues annoyed me until I figired out how the system worked. It’s better if you have mouse context right click on the mouse and look striaght ahead, slightly up, then map a button / key to the toolbar, it works 100% of the time.

Where it gets messy is, if you use controllers the input focus is taken away from the mouse and that seems to upset the display of the toolbar often it doesn’t show up at all.

Ooooh, been doing the new Avatar expansion and forgot about that one!

2020 I can just go in and fly. Could probably get through all of Indiana Jones just with the saved tinkering time. I bought Avatar at the time when I was only XBSX, can game pass Indy on the PC!

Do you need to restart the sim when disabling/enabling photogrammetry?

you don’t have to, but it takes a while so let it do it’s thing to avoid problems. You’ll have some residual PG (or non PG depending which way you’re going) for some time before you see the difference unless starting a new flight.
