Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Coming to Sony PlayStation 5

Maybe the autopilot was on? That behaves that way, that it tries to counteract your inputs to keep heading.

Apologies in advance, i don’t like to write negative posts, but after the announcement of no crossplay, we feelin’ some kinda way

Maybe shame on me for getting my hopes up after the launch of 2024, but no crossplay with PlayStation users just kills any excitement i had. This is a core feature, without which, i don’t see much point to the PlayStation release. Crossplay is something nearly all modern games have figured out, i would’ve thought a cutting edge game like MSFS could manage it

I’ve now had to go back and tell my friends that only have PlayStation that we won’t be able to play together, and they probs won’t be getting MSFS 2024 anymore, since that was the main draw

I have no clue why the PlayStation version would be allowed to ship without crossplay, it goes against the whole ethos of bringing people together to enjoy flight simming. If the issue is software-side, then it should be delayed until crossplay can be added. If the issue is just having to log into a Microsoft Account, give PlayStation users the option when they start the game ~ then you allow those who want crossplay to join in the fun, while not forcing anyone

As someone who’s tried to stay as positive as realistically possible through the whole MSFS 2024 lifespan, I’m just so disappointed with what should’ve been a defining win for MSFS. I know Asobo’s doing the best that it can with the hand it’s dealt, but it’s feeling like MSFS 2024 is just one debacle after another

At this point, i wish MSFS 2024 in its entirety was just postponed and released (on all platforms) on the 45th anniversary of the series. Maybe they’ll finally get it right in like 2032 for the 50th anniversary :dotted_line_face:

I know this is a bit of extra money but if it is important to play with your mates and you could afford it - get a PS5 Pro. You’ll have best of both then :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t think it’s realistic to expect us to drop around $750 for a PS5 Pro,$70 minimum for MSFS2024, and a PS Plus monthly membership to play with our friends. Not to mention if you’d want to use any add-on planes that you already have ~ nope, gonna have to pay again

All this when crossplay is standard on most any other competent major release (minus Nintendo, but we don’t talk about them x_x)

The question I have asked myself is if this lack of cross play and also that it is not possible to carry over purchases is due to technical reasons or if it is a business decision. We don’t know but since they make the new version as a totalt separate product according to the last Dev stream, it sounds to me that it is a business choice. I cannot believe that technicalities are in the way for such a big software company.

That’s a ripoff. It’s not worth even close to that much.

They have a captured market if no other peripheral can be used for PS5. Sad but true!

No auto pilot, the aircraft was responding and going exactly where I wanted to but the yoke was showing opposite direction until I stopped climbing.

It’s also making me lose hope for getting DualSense-specific improvements (like haptics etc.) into the pc version(((

This is from the Ps5 beta invite email:

(I assume it is ok to post it here since the link only works for users who have been invited to the beta)

“Get the latest information on the beta, participate in polls, share feedback, and join the discussion on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator Beta Forum (note you must be signed in to the forums with the same account used to join the beta). If you do not see the Beta forums, please allow 24-48 hours for it to show up.

Thank you!

MSFS 2020 on PS? And PSVR for FS20? Did I miss something?

Wrong. The “big software company” has proven more than clearly that it can’t get technical problems under control - which “are in the way” (nicely put)

Its most possibly a “sony” reason. I don’t think ms would be allowed to sell anything in a platform controlled by sony without giving sony a cut of that revenue. So if they allowed marketplace purchases to carry over, sony may argue that users will be able to bypass the sony platform while purchasing addons (for example buying it in windows) and then use those in sony platform without paying sony anything. I think the same applies to the steam and Microsoft Store version of the product in PC.

It sounds very likely that Sony has a say in this.

So I have been on this website for Playstation where they advertise upcoming games - NOT 1 mention of MSFS 2024!?? Why wouldn’t they do this if this was supposed to be the be all and end all product? Clearly MSFS 2024 to PS5 is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things in Sony!

Only that the PSVR2 can be used on PC via an adapter

I was mainly referring to the alleged possibility of running FS20 on the PlayStation.
The possibility of running VR2 on the PC cannot be taken seriously, judging by the comments on this topic.

If there does end up being no cross play between PS5 & XBox/PC users it won’t be a technical constraint.

Years, perhaps decades back, Microsoft ran tests of cross play on some games, I forget which, between PC, and XBox users before it was released to the public. What they found was the PC users dominated the console players because they were mouse users, and aiming is simply superior with that device. It was blocked for a long time, but eventually we started to see it in some games.

I’m not suggesting that might be the reason for the PS5 maybe not being able to fly with non-PS5 users, just that there may be other non-technical reasons why, and it probably involves lawyers, and contracts.

No one actually said anything about 2020 running on PS though.

No idea how well PSVR2 works on PC, haven’t looked into it much, but I thought it worked in general, that’s what I’ve read elsewhere.

Yes the psvr2 works great o the pc version of msfs2020, the psvr mk2 that I have also worked sort of ok but not as good or easy to setup as the psvr2 was.
