You need a mouse on ps5. I found using a controller after alpha and bravo very difficult to get used to. I ended up with hotas 4, mouse, keyboard and controller. This combination made the ps5 much more manageable.
After a while, you will need to clear cache. Especially if you use career mode.
The game starts glitching out unless you do.
The graphics is also just not as good as pc.
I’m back to pc for better functionality all round.
Does anyone know when the Marketplace on PS5 will have everything available compared to Xbox? It is really bare bones now. I can’t even find any livery’s to buy for planes.
BTW - MS does an incredible job on taking advantage of the Sony’s PS5 controller than Sony does. The immersion factor of this game on PS5 is off the charts because of the ATC speaking through the PS5 Mic. The flight warnings and altitude readings coming out of the mic. The different colors the controller changes to for different conditions. The Gyro controls. So much more.
MS did the same thing with the Indiana Jones game on PS5. Terrific job.
Back in December, maybe January, the head of MSFS said he hopes to have third party content in the Marketplace on PS5 in the spring (of 2026). That was just a hope, which to me is even more open-ended than a target, and things definitely could have shifted since then.
That’s the latest official word there has been on the subject, really.
I noticed the prices on the existing PS5 marketplace are not in dollars. It’s like some game currency. How does that work if you want to buy something? You have to convert tokens?
Not sure - that seems to be something specific to PlayStation, actually. On other platforms, as far as I’m aware, that sim currency (called Simverse Coins) can be purchased and then used to buy addons, however most purchases are done in your local currency. Then what happens, 100% in the background, is that the sim purchases the right amount of Simverse Coins on your behalf, and then immediately uses those Simverse Coins to complete the transaction in the store. This is why when you receive a receipt for purchasing products on the Marketplace on PC or Xbox, your receipt shows you purchased Simverse Coins, not any specific airport, aircraft, or other addon.
I’ve never fully understood why this is done this way, but I imagine it has something to do with managing foreign currencies.
Yes, it all happens in the background. Check your receipts, they won’t show that you purchased an aircraft - they’ll show that you purchased Simverse Coins.
