The workaround was the “empty folder” one, although it probably isn’t necessary with today’s announcement!
UPDATE: Microsoft support responded to me and provided a fix that actually worked well for me! Here is what they recommended:
Try reinstalling MSFS 2024 completely, and also delete your cloud save. This will ensure that there is no corruption within the app or the cloud save to cause the crashes.
My sim is now much more stable and much more enjoyable. I hope that if you are able to try this fix that it works for you and that you can enjoy some sim flying time!
Latest this morning.:
Unable to load any flights.
Unable to select a departure point. In that I can select an airport, but not able to select a gate or even start on the runway. Tries spawning “in air”straight to CTD. Sigh
I have the same problem , after 20-30 minutes of flying the sim stops and crashes to desktop

yep same just got one same specs…
loading unusually long:log saved to report-loading.toml
Complete wipe and reinstall with nothing saved and still CTD within 2 mins
i C2D when escaping to menue and trying to get back ingame
this is 100’% reproducable, can´t play like that at all
- drivers upated
- re-installed
- deleted community folder
- underclocked CPU/Ram
- closed avery running background-program
- even tried some reg-edits
Day 5 of searching for a solution
I did the exact same thing.
Complete FRESH windows 11 install.
Still CTD. Couldn’t complete a single flight.
Now that was yesterday.
Today I just passed the memtest with NO errors.
Lets try to fly again.
Had a great 2 hour session without a CTD.
Awesome.

The streamed FS2020 content was causing the sim to not start.
Putting an empty folder with the same name as the addon in the community folder alleviated that.
Im getting thsi error what to do…sometimes i get this error after my crash or no error just back on desktop. It happens everytime
My suggestion, open a ticket with Zendesk, they’re the only ones that are going to be able to help you.
In my case, after quite a few emails, today the sim is not crashing, like by magic.
They have disabled 2020 addons from the marketplace.
I think that was it in my case, but I’ll keep on testing.
