Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 General Feedback

Vote here: Start flight without walkaround (MSFS2024)

Right? Jorg said all is good, not sure why they are hesitant to open the polls!?

I don’t think it’s okay to tell someone not express their opinion about something just because that opinion does not track with what you consider to be the general consensus. A diverse selection of opinions and feedback is important to the further development of the simulator.

You can’t just tell them what you don’t like, it’s important to point out what you like as well, that way they know what to fix, and what make more of.

They don’t want to see the results.

Same reason Dev stream moved to next week.

Same reason a gazelle won’t walk past a pack of lions :joy::joy::joy:

Haha, I guess they’re trying to carefully craft the perfect excuse, but actions speak louder than words. Forget the sweet talk or surveys—they have a mountain of work ahead, the same mess they knew about months ago. The only difference now is that the “monkey in silk” they sold us has finally ditched the shiny jewelry, and we’re left staring at the bare truth.

Yeah I got this too frequently :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it’s just me. Sadly I don’t think it is.

What do you think?

I think the polls go open over about one year after they have fixed the major bugs or the users are used to the state of the sim and not complaining anymore.

Yh a bad CSAT/NPS means no bonus in corporate America

Good:

Awesome rocks, better water and water effects, radio towers and such, trees and more. Faster initial and world map loading. Toggling between menus faster.

Bad:
Almost all else. Loading is poor. Blurry. Xbox is slow. Streaming is a bad idea. No marketplace functionality. Career mode gate keeps fun activities behind a tedious and expensive process that turns off casual simmers like me. Big planes don’t work. And dev streams and fixes are few and are between. More tedious to get to controls , settings, and ground handling. Also a poor UI vs 2020

Streaming is only been done for the Xbox, because of the smaller software package that has to be installed. Streaming is not what the sim made better. All the improvements could also have been done within the current configuration of MSFS2020. Microsoft said that they wanted to optimize the sim for the Xbox and that’s been done. Now we have a new sim that’s unstable and it will take a long time to get it on the same level as MSFS2020 is now.

I had uninstalled MSFS 2020 hoping this wouldn’t all happen again, but after 20 hours of flight, I believe this has a long way to go just to match 2020, and an even longer way to surpass it. Right now, I’m reinstalling MSFS 2020 and all my addons. I’ll come back in a few months to give it another chance. For me, this rushed release has been an absolute failure…

Good day MSFS team,
on your MSFS 2024 pre release agenda you didn´t miss out on emphasizing the new satellite imagery, especially for the US. One reason to make the switch from 2020 to 2024, right? Now… I just wanted to look at Chicago area cause I know in 2020 there was some quite noticable borderline between two completely different satellite images so I wanted to see how the new Chicago area looks like. I´ll attach a screenshot of it from the world map, it´s the exact same when the scenario has loaded. There is literally NO difference at all. And given that this happens at the first US airport I tried (and this issue was extremely popular in 2020, especially around the US), it´s hard to believe that it´s any different to 2020 at all. So pretty much every US or Canada flight will still see major changes in satellite imagery no matter if during cruise or during approach/departure. You´ll always notice and therefore my question remains clear: Where is the new satellite data which was promised for 2024?

Creating a selling point but leaving out that point in the end is a little unfair tbh…

As long as they don’t screw up MSFS 2020, users will never get used to MSFS 2024 in its current state! They are day and night different with MSFS 2020 having crisp beautiful landscape, scenery and TLOD compared to cartoonish blurry MSFS 2024 with a ton of issues! I mean of all the issues, why the hell did they decide to change the perfectly functional control system in the Sim, forget about the rest?!

Much has already been written within the community about issues that are unnecessary and make a great gaming experience impossible.

The fundamental issue with the new simulator is not just the overloaded server behavior but also the game’s programming. Redesigning the control key, mouse and throttles bindings was completely unnecessary. In my opinion, the loading times have improved, and the scenery runs relatively smoothly. However, the frequent crashes to desktop after completing a flight or on other ingame changes are very frustrating and ruin the community’s enjoyment of flying. Microsoft and Asobo need to address this quickly. Communication can be improved by providing at least a weekly list of bugs being worked on.

What surprises me the most is that even 7 days after release, there are still many users who are unable to load or play the simulator, or rather, the game. This absolutely should not happen, and the reasons for this need to be communicated very fast.

Microsoft and Asobo are surely aware of this and, as a “global corporation,” should work on these issues as quickly as possible to avoid upsetting the very large simulator community.

best regards

Dear Jorg and Asobo,

Why…why does Flight Simulator in 2024 still offer airfields that haven’t existed for years?

An example of an airfield not far from where I live that closed in 2016… FS2020 proposed it but I said to myself it’s correct, the closure of the aerodrome was close to the release of FS2020.

4 years later you’re still using the same data for the 2024 version, not to mention bing map which is completely out of date in my region.

Disappointing

Millions of users has paid for MSFS2020 so they can’t screw it up.
They only can stop upgrading the old version, but they have said not to do that.
Maybe in a couple of years MSFS2020 will end, but i hope that in the mean time they made something out of the new version.

Other than the server issues on the first day, I’ve had a pretty good experience with the sim.
I fly general aviation, mainly tbm 930 and VisionJet. These airplanes are working fine. I made lots of missions and advanced in career. Already played some 15 hours.

The performance is really solid, zero CTDs so far. Running 4K high/ultra 40-60 fps without frame gen. RTX 4070ti super is super overclocked too and DLSS replaced by the latest one 3.8.10.0
The RAM usage is higher than FS2020 eating 32GB during missions and flights.
The VRAM usage is similar to FS2020 but for 4K and ultra textures it uses more than 13GB.
The CPU is not bottlenecking since the GPU stays at 98-99% usage.

The bugs I found:
-Some airplanes used in the missions, like I thin Beachcraft and others present lots of visual bugs, like passengers on the wings, on the landing gear, etc.

-Some airports used in the missions are with wrong topography and you can collide with objects inside the taxiway.

-The trajectory of some missions are impossible for the planes being used.

Avoid rough landscapes like the alps and you will be good.
