Do we have a sense on the aircraft update process at all? I know some very active devs in the forums for the C-17 and the Grumman Albatross have said they’ve already submitted bug fixes
Sooner or later they will announce there will be no future updates regarding 2020. From this point on 3rd party developer might turn their back on 2020 as well. From this point it will be only a matter of time until we run into issues they will make it not playable anymore.
After two weeks, the textures are still horrible, everything is blurry. Photogrammetry is blurry, poor quality. There are several missions that won’t start.
That’s true, but looking on the bright side, end of support for MSFS2020 won’t come until MSFS2024 ceases to be a bug-ridden, incomplete mess!
MSFS2020 has many years of life yet ! ![]()
Yes, that’s the future of one of the best flight simulators ever made.
It was not perfect, maybe 80% of what it could be.
They could make it perfect, but they decided to stop the development.
Instead of that they create a bad dream that takes years of development before it can even come close to its predecessor. ![]()
you have to smile.
Yesterday I was playing in the career mode. Enter all the ‘paper work’. Listed my home airport and career path. Got the first assigmen/mission done. Went on to the second. As luck would have it MSFS 2024 put me in a ‘new’ home airport about 20 to 30 miles from the proper home airport. flew the mission but (yes there is always a but) when I landed at the ‘new’ airport it (the program) dinged me for landing at the wrong airport.
Wellllll you have to laugh. I’m coming to enjoy the random nature of this game.

Dear Asobo / Microsoft:
Overall feedback from me:
FS2024 shows promise! Its CPU-scalable multi-core architecture needed to happen. When it works, it works really well. For me that’s the main positive. The servers (I’m in France) also work fine for me here.
However, these are my top three deal-breakers (in criticality order) which would need to be fixed:
- Please sort out the DirectX12 VRAM / shared RAM memory management bug. At the moment, when there is overspill into ‘shared GPU memory’ it’s currently killing our frame rates down to single-figure (eg <10) fps;
- Allow third-party injected traffic (with the authentic liveries etc.) at the airport gates and in the sky (eg FSLTL; AIG; etc.).
- Please provide developers with un-encrypted access to aircraft, airports, and nav data – eg. so that LittleNavMap can work with FS2024; and for third-party livery content creators etc…
Thanks in advance.
If MS shuts down 2020 servers i will not buy 2024 as i understand its a mess. Maybe over one year or two. Till then i stay with 2020. And dont het me wrong: 2020 is also a mess with stupid AI and ATC, missing buildings, jetways, hige abnormal bumps in taxiways and the lost goes on. Its PMDG that make me want to use 2020 but beyond PMDG i do nothing with 2020. So i stay far away from 2024 mess
100%. - I’ve been saying this for years, trying to get it on the radar for Msobo to update this and push photogrammetry further. not only is this my home region so realism drops when autogenerated, missing & incorrect buildings on approach to KORD (see image) but the hard cut off location of the two imagery types is terrible (see image), both in blending and why not do it further west in more rural areas. hoping they make an update for this. Please vote for this wish list item
MSFS was not perfect because they stopped when it was not finished and now they start all over again with a new sim that take another 4 years to get it 80% ready.
I run MSFS2020 with BeyondATC. They have a product with great potential. Better ATC and controlled AI aircraft on air and on the ground.
Lot of bumbs are already been flatten on airports by enthusiast programmers.
Flight planning is great with the build in simbrief planner app.
I have a Bravoairspace Boeing in my library. and when I click on it the sim stops responding.
I was really stoked about the career mode when it was announced but I’m so disappointed! I want to fly helicopters and the missions shown in the trailers looked awesome, but all that is “hidden” behind a wall of nonsense flights. First you have to perform a number of flights in the Cessna before you can even take a heli cert. Then when you finally have it there are no missions for the Cabri so I did another bunch of fixed wing flights to earn credits for the turbine engine endorsement. Reached that goal as well and just did my check flight with flying colors. But there are still no helicopter missions available!!
It’s such a shame how this career mode is implemented!
- Arcade style missions
- You get punished for extending flaps while standing still on the runway in certain aircraft
- Helicopter landings are registered before touching the ground, i.e. you get punished if you are too close to the ground and not exactly over a helipad
- You get punished for flying through prohibited airspace, but the airspaces are not displayed on the map in the EFB
- You have to spend countless hours flying fixed wing missions before you get any available helicopter missions
It has such a potiential so please fix it!
It’s a simple beta game and by far finished.
You have to be patient for a few years, then they might have fixed it at Asobo.
All the beautiful trailers you’ve seen are handcrafted and also the used scenery.
It was nothing more than promotional material.
The Airbus TCA does work in 2024 no problem but you will have to rebind a lot of it , i have mine working all good, check out this link for the engine mode switch but bear in mind it will not be button 8 ms does a wierd thing and assigns differnt numbers to the buttons so you need to work out what they are. Also you need to set the “on release” toggle for norm and also for the gear down lever. I will post my settings for xbox/TCA quadrent/stick.
Definately seems like the aircraft are constantly streamed.
If I jump to external view and back to internal, the cockpit is blurry until it’s all downloaded again.
It reminds me of the old dial-up Internet days where you could see the graphics being interpolated (think thats the word) as they are received.
Fast machine with 200Mbps broadband so don’t think it’s my side.
900MBPS plus wired download and seeing the same thing with aircraft.
Increase your rolling cache. I set mine to 32 GB, from that point, can’t remember when I had blurry cockpit.
Also sim works a lot better in general.
I set mine to 64GB and noticed a bit more stability as well. I haven’t tested photogrammetry much though, and I probably should.
Sim rate seems to be working on inibuilds aircraft, but time progression and fuel consumption are not being affected. Could this be an issue with inibuilds or MSFS?
The launch was not an issue for me. I fully expected to see this. What was a huge surprise was that hardware I use in 2020 did not work in 2024. Settings changed, nothing saved. Planes that issued at launch were half finished at best. It’s the worst porting of software I have ever seen. Zero testing. Pure arrogance.
