Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 v1.2.8.0 (Patch #4) Discussion

MSFS2024 is environmentally friendly.
It’s a Green Game with frustrated users. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Have you tried checking them at night? I’ve been using quite a few Ini Airbuses mostly at night and the nav lights are usually all quite visible. They all have bloom (not my favourite effect). And project forward. I’ll need to go check what they do in the daytime. I also think their logo light is bugged as there was an outer tail light on, but the logo wasn’t illuminating with logo light switch and the tail light didn’t go off with logo light switch either.

First flight of the week on career mode…

I have this same issue, work around (for me at least) is to not touch anything in the cockpit prior to starting engines. No switches knobs or buttons, then hit Control E (short cut to start a plane). It starts the plane up fine. Only seems to be affecting career mode maybe?

Yes. I posted up from Inibuild telling the the same thing, that is a streaming issue. What I cannot understand is why the the same issue don´t affect other planes.

I am trying not to get frustrated but its difficult. The Asobo VisionJet, does not move once up above say 500feet, totally smooth no movement in the air despite the howling gale outside, its serene as you enter some very large clouds, or any clouds, get up into the cruise nothing but butter smooth, the 78kt cross wind the aircraft is correcting for is the smoothest most consistent wind anywhere on the planet.
Totally sterile boring nonesense. Get in the 172 and it bumps and bucks just like the real thing, in fact sometimes it smooths out then starts again, just like the real world. So whats with the VisionJet, is it programmed to ignore turbulence?
Cant get any 3rd party aircraft to work, Blacksquare TBM no sound, FS Reborn flight model is broken, will happily fly straigth and level at 90k ts full flags gear down and …zero power …the core flightsim model is just nonesense, except the 172 does feels good once in the air but get any kind of cross wind and it wants to drop a wing onto the runway unless you put opposite aleroin , like all of it, then it twitches around like a …well like something not like i have ever seen a 172 do.
Framegen is rubbish ,I get constant microstutters, switch it off get much lower framerate but its smoother. Career missions, the passenger speaking dialogue is moronic, I am left wondering what on earth the 2 years of development has been developing. Was it the grass ? That is really good…sarcasm intended

Somewhat surprisingly, I noticed this afternoon that all my disabled FS2020 Marketplace scenery has now been made available to re-enable and use again. The only one missing has been missing all along - FlyTampa’s Las Vegas Strip and KLAS package. That one never showed up in my Library even before Asobo temporarily disabled Marketplace airport scenery streaming. So glad to get FlyTampa’s KBOS and LGAV back. along with Orbx’s KBUR, SJC and KAVX, and all the rest that had been turned off.

I’m very, very pleased with this turn of events.

They snuck that in without fanfare. Although FT’s Vegas is a real highlight.

Indeed. I wonder why that one has never shown up for me as available. The other sceneries I own for 2020 were available from day 1, but not that one. I was missing a bunch of aircraft, but all my sceneries aside from that one were there. My aircraft have all been available for a couple weeks now, so literally the only thing left is FlyTampa’s Vegas stuff. I am beginning to suspect there’s some fairly technical reason why it’s not: perhaps the combined package is too large to stream, or maybe the scenery is built in some convoluted way that precludes dynamically streaming it in. They (MS/Asobo) may be waiting for some future sim patch that will allow monolithic download and static installation, as is the case with FS2020.

However, until the PMDG or iFly 737’s are available in FS2024, I will simply avoid flying into KLAS. When those aircraft DO become available for FS2024, if my KLAS scenery isn’t there, I may actually suck it up and buy it again outside the Marketplace.

EDIT: Orbx has it on sale for 30% off for the end of the year sale. That’s around $15USD with the current exchange rate. Hmm … :eyes:

I had no external lights in the FW200 Condor. It’s not just Inibuilds or glass screens.

For me the sim is “better”.

update your NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation DLL to 3.8.1 [here]
Save the old one to be safe and drop this in the limitless folder to update.
and use DLSS swapper to get the latest DLSS file. that made a big difference as 1.2.7 loaded an older, (but not as old as it used to be) one back in. updating mine fixed a lot of studder for me.
Also if you are using Nvidia, removing the nvidia HD audio drivers the express install puts in are supposed to help. it caused studder on 2020. they are only for driving monitor speakers. go to your device manager under audio and remove the drivers there.

Why Asobo doesn’t include the last version of this DLL in all of their patches? Is it because they test with an older version?

But then, they don’t test, do they?

Updating the DLSS version is something I am reluctant to do.

Although I am somewhat resentful for being manipulated (via Marketing of MSFS 2024) into paying Asobo to participate in the Open Beta, I am hoping that running the game as default with no addons at least provides specific CTD data for Asobo to reference and make focused “bug” fixes.

I only want to play the game. I just want to fly.

I can say that a clean Windows 11 and MSFS 2024 install without any addons or mods still CTD’s about 30% or more of the time. ( better than the 90% failure before Update 4)

This game is too realistic regarding maintenance. I spend 4 hours trying to fix/maintain MSFS 2024 for 1 hour of flight time.

Newer versions of the DLL may have instabilities, regressions or other issues. Despite all the YouTuber’s clamoring for attention and the anecdotal stories of miraculous performance improvements from swapping DLSS versions, I’ve personally seen ZERO change in my sim performance - or performance in any game I play regularly - by doing so.

Also worth reminding people that Asobo themselves did upgrade DLSS versions in the patch prior to this one. The current default version is 3.7.2, so not nearly as “old” as people seem to think.

787 is my goto airliner.

In the 2024 iteration it works OK. Autopilot is tricky but it is tricky in reality.

My understanding is the wings do not flex like in this image.

Edit: Just flew it after the .28 revision and the stuttering is there on tghe runways… runway texture… cranking the texture level of detail back to medium… this is a shame.
