Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on sales and discounts

Why would it be? Most current add-ons will work on FS2024 as well.

Exactly. They wouldn’t do that.

If you believe that youll believe anything lol.

What makes you think they won’t? MS says they will. Devs seem to mostly believe they will. Wouldn’t be worth saying that then angering a good part of your user base.

Surely it can’t be compared to believing the earth is flat, alien pyramids are on Mars and Bigfoot lives in the forest… But you said “anything.” lol

While I have my suspicions, they have to ensure a certain degree of compatibility, not least because of the legal ramifications following their statements confirming compatibility (though their actual wording pertained to products purchased in the Marketplace).

It would be a very foolish marketing decision to renege on that promise.

They dont know because the development is not finished.

Could you provide a link to the source that provided you with insight as to what Asobo’s developers know or do not know about add-on compatibility of their product?

The game is to be released in 2 months. The core development is certainly finished. They are probably doing beta testing and fixing bugs at this stage.

They said that FSX aircraft would be usable in FS2020, and it was true for a while, but they slowly got worse with each update of MSFS. Expect the same with FS2024…

Source? I’ve never seen anyone from Asobo saying this.

Most aircraft from the who’s who will be converted immediately if not quickly to 2024. But there’s going to be a big wave of ‘newness’ that probably will cool off the drive to acquire new 3RD party aircraft for a bit. Particularly since we have some heroes either becoming free(PC-12/Vision Jet) or returning to MSFS(like the Twotter), plus whatever we haven’t seen yet.

Then there’s the bell curve where the TRULY new aircraft will begin to show, tube aircraft with flexible fabric covering, for instance, where a 2020 port is just a box painted like fabric. So easy for a lot to be forgotten.

So this point in time is a pretty good time to put stuff on sale. I’m going to go back through 60+ add-on aircraft in the new sim, gonna be a while before I get back around to looking for older models again. The norm will become looking forward to new ‘2024’ birds. Would be funny if they announce something like a premium edition DASH-8 and stuff is still full price in the MP a month from release. I’ve already stopped buying scenery for some time, heck the new PG in DC alone has one of my old favorite(and local to me) add-ons permanently parked on the uninstalled list, and we’re not even there yet.

And what if the ‘built for 2024’ default aircraft have a massive swath of new features not possible for any developer in 2020. And we’ve not a clue how they are approaching helicopters.

If everyone puts a tooth under their pillow the night before 2024 is released our wishes might come true lol.

M’M Simulations have yet another sale. Spotted at Contrail; not sure if it applies to other stores. 50% off most of their stuff, with 15% off three of the latest releases (EBLG, EDDG, EYVI).
