Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on sales and discounts

Neat. Does that also mean you have access to the “weaponised” version now?

Yes, I can see all the weapons. Contrail gives you a standalone installer, the same one you would get from Just Flight.

Wasn’t very impressed. Only bought the military version of the grumman (for the better sound pack).

For the other aircraft, the discount wasn’t good enough to make me jump. I can wait for the inevitable future sales.

OTOH, did find over a dozen great deals on airports. You can never have enough places to fly to

Both the Hellcat and the P-38 Lightning are on sale at Flying Iron for <£7.
The Hellcat is a very very nice warbird, and for <£7 ……

The discount is £6.95, the actual sale price is £16.20. Still a bargain though! In fact, all the FI aircraft are excellent value, even at full price. I bought the FW190 today, it looks superb and can’t wait to try it out.

Just testing to see who was paying attention

Are MP prices inflated? Black Square - Piston and Turbine Duke are £35.74 each, after 21% discount. The same planes on JF website cost £33.99 and this is a normal price. You can even buy both as a bundle for £49.99, option not available on MP.

Yes! ALL (!) prices have been increased by 10-15%!

I suspect this was another “lets have a sale for $REASONS” because the marketplace is in a state of uncertainty wrt next month’s 2024 release - especially as people are starting to realize that updated aircraft that actually take advantage of the new SDK won’t be coming out until next spring, since it’s going to take time and practice to properly integrate the new features.

So in December the holiday sales will be for add-ons that are still 2020 tech, as will be the January sales.

Gonna need big discounts to move product.

Deal of the century, fantastic little aircraft. Lands on water, you can ‘cruise’ it up from the water onto land, turn around, back in the water and away you go.
It’s in my top 10.

I will be picking it up tonight after work. Meant to this morning but the Huey in the Alps around the Jungfraujoch just sounded like the perfect way to wake up!

The prop noise of the Huey will certainly wake you up.

That and the scenery! The coffee helped a bit too :joy:

I found the Riviera need a lot of trim for take off and landing.
I also set the sensitivity for roll to zero, or it was way too slow.
These may be relative to my hardware, however, they may be useful.

I feel like it’ll be the perfect plane for an upcoming tour New Zealand! Thanks @AboardFaun59134

Please can you tell me how you make the transfer from marketplace to Contrail? I’ve looked on both and cannot see the process, maybe I’m being stupid but please help.

Thanks very much for your help. I am most grateful.

It’s there, just search “Duke”.
