I just got hit with this. I have had MSFS on my D: - drive for 3 years.

Tody I had to go into Windows Settings > System > Storage - Select “Change where new content is saved” and choose “New apps will be saved to” and select my D: drive.

I have NO idea why. I just lucked out googling the issue and fiddled around.
