So are you saying you can’t get into the sim at all now, or you just can’t load the airport? If it’s the latter, it sounds like the issue is with the developer of the add-on rather than a flight sim problem. If it’s the former, uninstall and reinstall and see if that works.

Hello @wombleway Just when it loaded the Stansted airport, my game crashed

So you’ve plotted a flight to start at Stansted, and it crashes upon clicking the ‘Fly’ button? (I’m not aware that there’s any way to tell what’s being loaded at any particular time during the boot up sequence on Xbox, so I’m guessing this is what’s happening). I also assume you’ve tried this multiple times (with different aircraft, live weather off, etc) and each time it fails to start the flight?

If that’s the case, I’d uninstall the airport and either take it up with the developers of the add-on through their bug reporting procedure, or request a refund through your Microsoft account refund page online.

the sim itself as a whole has become a SHAM since the announcement of MSFS2024…was all working fine for me since the last little update it got and then it all went to the dogs…how are we supposed to look forward to a new sim when they cant even fix the problems it has now ???
my patience are running thin with this sim as its problem after problem with every update…2 steps forward 10 steps back…unless you have a 5 grand pc with the highest of specs…im on the xbox series s that has now come to my light that its just not powerful enough…series x even for that matter…you can get onto devs but they blame MSFS and Asobo so ya get onto them and they say contact the developer…or submit a ticket that never gets looked at? what are we ment to do???personally i think it was a money grabbing thing that xbox did even releasing this to console as they cant even keep their promise…2 years+ and its only getting worse instead of better…when is MICROSOFT and Asobo going to listen and help out the console players instead of saying “well we have tried it at testing and had no problem” this isnt good enough in the time and age we are in…if console cant cope with the demand of whatever it is why not just take it off the console and admit defeat???

rant over for now

Anybody have any idea what was meant by the rep saying “delete the reserved spaces”? I’ve never heard this. May be referring to rolling cache or perhaps Blu-ray cache.

The sim works just fine on the Series X… I’m flying in it right now. :+1:t2:

But im betting ya have had your fair share or black screens and ctd …and probably have had to delete a few addons and airports etc…if not fair play you have managed to be in the elite of having no problems at all

Of course I’ve had CTDs with the sim, but they happen all the time in other apps, programs and systems around the world - they’re not unique to flight sim. I have more problems with my work pc, and that’s just running a spreadsheet and a few web browser windows.

Having said that, I honestly can’t remember the last time the sim crashed on me… I’ve not uninstalled any airports I’ve purchased, although I’ve uninstalled some aircraft (only because they didn’t live up to my expectations), but none have actually caused me any major issues.

Good morning Beamy. I had the Xbox s, have traded it in for the X! My s would cod occasionally. So when I learned that 2024 was coming out next year made my decision.
My experience has figured out that not all the Addons cause problems. Figure out which cause the problem unistall it. Another flyer I know had same problem with the s, exchanged it for X!

I don’t own an X-box, so when I read your post, I did have a clue what “delete the reserved space” means in terms of X-box.

But less than a Minute later I did , and it look less time than it took you to type in the open question in the forum, and then have to wait for someone to look it up for you.

Google “Xbox delete the reserved space”

How to clear the reserve space

  • Press the Xbox Guide/Home button on your controller to bring up the Home Menu.
  • Select My games & apps.
  • Select See All.
  • Select Microsoft Flight Simulator (or whatever it is called on the x-box) and Select Manage Game.
  • Select Saved Data.
  • Select the second entry labeled Reserved Space
  • Select Clear Reserved Space.

Its not beyond the realms of possibility to have a defective X-box
All X-Box-x systems are not identical, as they are manufactured in different locations, with differing component sources.
Such is the nature of Computer Electronics, and it’s not till you get Millions of samples of people using what is meant to be the same piece of hardware, that these differences start to appear.

When IC are manufacture, its a Numbers game. Some are good, some are very very good, some are adequate, and some are below standard, and hopefully rejected.

But not all ICs are tested, – only a sample is tested from a manufactured batch, so you can still be unlucky, and get a sub-standard chip, that ends up giving issues.

If there are batches of defective X-boxes out there, nobody is admitting to it !!

“But being this is a series X, the most powerful X-Box in the world and it will blow MSFS clean off, **you’ve gotta ask yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?”
