Microsoft/inibuilds A330 planned fuel / EFOB calculation incorrect

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
On all the Microsoft/inibuilds A330, the calculated fuel for longer flights is higher than both:

  1. The SimBrief calculated fuel burn
  2. The actual fuel used by the time you land.

This means that you are often taking off with a warning for the EFOB at your destination being below the minimum, or even sometimes less than 0.

In my experience, the SimBrief calculated fuel is correct and this situation gradually resolves as the flight progresses, with the expected FOB when you land.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes and yes (it’s an aircraft issue not a mod issue)

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Plan a long haul flight on SimBrief using their preset for one of the Microsoft/inibuilds A330 variants.
  2. Import your flight plan into the aircraft in sim.
  3. Check the planned trip fuel in the INIT B / FUEL PRED page of the MCDU and also the EFOB at destination on the flight plan page.

• Yes, this happens to me in every flight in any IniBuilds airplane

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• After entering FOB on the INIT B page, a first result is displayed after a second or so which roughly matches the SimBrief number. After a few more seconds, the EXTRA/TIME display changes to a much lower number, often negative if I haven’t added extra fuel.

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• As mentioned by the OP, the fuel often shows as negative until you are in the air, then it begins to recalculate and eventually gets to the right number.

I have also noticed that if you look at the F-PLN page, and hit the ‘right arrow’ to view the EFOB for each waypoint, you can see that it seems to be only accounting for half the actual fuel starting from the first waypoint - at some point during the flight it will recalculate the actual fuel and everything starts to line up with the simbrief flight plan

Has there been a resolution for this issue? Having all the same discrepancies as OP

I am now seeing the same in the iniBuild A330. Using Simbrief with the iniBuild profile the fuel is calculated, but it shows a negative value for the EFOB which eventually stabilizes during flight.
I verified the route in simbrief as well as in the plane, but the fuel calculations seem off by quite a bit

I also experience this exact issue with all flights with the A333 (haven’t flown the A332 yet). I have played with the Fuel Bias setting in SimBrief to calculate more fuel for each flight plan, but this isn’t actually helping with the problem.

As the OP stated, I always take off with a negative EFOB on the F-PLN page and this value then increases to become what iwould be reasonable by the end of the flight. Seems likely this is something off a bit with the coding in the iniBuilds A330 aircraft.

Hi. I noticed that the chrono is too fast; perhaps that’s why the plane burns fuel three times faster in-game.

I’m confused by this. Are you sure you haven’t accidentally set your sim rate higher? For me, the chrono is OK?

No, it’s only happening in SU3 beta; the live version is okay.
