I agree - not only stop selling new copies, but they should de-list the entire thing until they get all of the missing features in, and fully playable for everyone.
After using it for 30 plus hours I asked for and received a refund from the Microsoft Store. Hopefully in the coming months (years) it will get better. It is a beautiful sim but there are issues I canāt and refuse to deal with. I canāt reward bad judgement and poor quality design with payment to a developer in good conscience. Theyāve had four years to come up with fixes and a better program. This isnāt it.
" Microsoft should stop selling new copies of MSFS 2024" ?
Nope!, People should stop complaining so much and show more respect. Iāll bet most of us donāt have the talent to do it any better?
Flew through Flak.
[ Iām still waiting for a YT vlogger to show the view of the runway at 5 miles on the approach.
The trees look good, but I donāt look at the trees when Iām appraoching to land.
Right now, MSFS2020 gives a representative view image of the runway from 5 miles. At 3 miles, it is convincibily accurate.
Iām still not convinced MSFS2024 is worth buying. ]
Respect is earned.
They havenāt earned it yet. Especially when what amounts to gaslighting their customers with claims like being the best flight experience when there are major bugs and inaccuracies in nearly every aspect of the sim.
They certainly can earn some respect, but itās going to take a lot of work improving the sorry state of the sim. I saw that there are two more hot fixes coming early next month (3 in total), which is good, but many of the problems should have been caught with even some basic QC checks. The whole situation reeks of the typical corporate mentality of being more concerned with deadlines than customer satisfaction.
Would you feel the same if you bought a car but it doesnāt come with an engine, after you bought it? Well, they promised all that and more for your dollar. In my vernacular, itās called cheating, or a con job. They never delivered the goods they promised. As it turns out itās a scam. But if youāre OK with it, that just makes it OK for them to scam others. Enjoy.
It doesnāt crash for me and I use it for several hours at a time. Iāve also just had a 2h group flight with a few dozen people and only one had the sim crash during this flight, similar to what usually happened in 2020 flights.
I shouldnāt extrapolate from my positive experience that most people enjoy the sim, just as I shouldnāt extrapolate from posts on this forum that most people do not.
BBB is a waste of time because it is not a government agency. It is a non-profit with no judicial or enforcement power.
Is it really wise to demand that oneās personal experience must be met by a response affecting all others?
Iāve used them a couple of times at least. It gets a companyās attention and they will act. Maybe not too your satisfaction, but it will a lot of times.
Or I guess you could take MS to small claims court to get your refund, but thatās a different kind of hassle.
I waited a week to buy it. I had a feeling it would be a cluster day one, and I was right, along with many others. But I went ahead and purchased it last night. It installed flawlessly. I had two CTD when playing with control assignments. I decided to load the Longitude into KPHL and fly around the area under different times and conditions. Definitely has some bugsā¦ saw an airliner spinning around half way in the groundā¦ most of the external lights donāt work on the Longitude. The contrails are bright white even in the dead of night. But it flew and flew nicely, very smooth, great visuals. This was my personal experience with it. I realize everyoneās experience will be different. But itās hereā¦ itās been releasedā¦ for better or for worse. Itās very unpolished and it may be unplayable for someā¦ very playable for others. But itās here to stay. Buyer beware and be aware of it limitations and itās potential and potential issues. But, it will be repairedā¦ maybe not all of itā¦ but enough that it will an asset to the community.
