Asobo/Microsoft seem to be aiming for a march 2023 release for their ATR 42/72. Will be interesting to see if Milviz/Blackbird can beat that.
Or whether MS/Asobo have bought the Milviz ATR
As far as I remember the ATR by Asobo is done with the help of Aerosoft and not Milviz
Asobo’s is created by Hans Hartmann and affiliates, with official license and data provided from ATR.
He was recenttly featured in the developer stream.
Thanks. Didn’t know that.
And for that reason I will be getting the Blackbird / Milviz ATR.
Does anyone here have experience with Milviz products and hardware support? For setup in for example SPAD.neXt.
I have found that the Aerosoft CRJ is a real pain since several events and variables are not exposed, which means you need to create your own logic, if even possible to bind all switches and buttons. The PMDG 737 on the other hand is pure joy to setup hardware for, since there is a corresponding event and variable for everything.
Don’t know anything about spad but milviz planes are awesome.
One of the best dev imo
so the not come, out this years but, next year?..
Please do not change it. We have our reasons and they are, I guarantee, not related to humor.
Can’t, won’t, will not, say a word on this.
Though I know it’s difficult to do, please drop this. We won’t respond to any further questions/comments on this.
Ok folks, this constant inquiry now constitutes Voice of the Customer activity, which means it goes off Forum per the rules of Third Party subforum.
Please cease and desist, and kindly respect the manufacturer’s comment that they can’t speak about it. Thank you.
Sad to see no progress updates before Christmas. ![]()
Whether Blackbird is currently working on the ATR is hard to say. In any case, the last statements in November (see above) were anything but promising. We will have to be patient.
Howdy to all.
I am aware that we’ve not been very open about what’s happening with the 80-R… And that means, well, it’s time to spill the beans:
At this time, after having invested significant bucks, we’ve decided that, for the moment, we’re putting the project on hold.
The reasons should be obvious but in case they’re not… I’m listing them below:
-
MS/Hans Hartmann are doing one and no matter what our price is, they can beat it. Hands down and super easy. No matter the quality level of either, We’d never be able to compete in the same space.
-
Spending another year on the project would’ve cost a huge amount of money that we’d never see. (again, see 1).
-
halfway through development, we realized that the 3D model was unacceptable in terms of quality (look/feel) so we junked it and started again. Though we had finished modeling, painting had not yet commenced. It would take another 20-30K and 4-6 months to get it done. All the while, MS is doing theirs.
-
When the MS/Hans version comes out, we will assess and revisit this. For now though, we’ve decided to put a hold on this till theirs is out.
We know you all were all looking forward to this, and we hate to bring you this disappointment, but we have to make decisions that best fit our business.
We continue to look forward to making wonderful products for you in the future.
Just cancel it like the one you were producing for FSX.
Sounds fair.
Any thoughts on the 737-200?
That one were working on….
Bad news. Sad news.
Understandable but not good for the reputation of the company.
It’s a good decision. I hope you can carry parts of the development to other projects.
