Pretty sure the 310 windscreen is plastic.
If so that would likely effect how long warm cabin air de-icing takes to have effect.

Hi all,
I’m thinking of getting this aircraft. I assume it’s the same as the Blackbird Simulations MV310 for MSFS 2020? Blackbird is just their new name I think but I assume the MV310 aircraft is the same as the C310R?
Anyway, I’m a relatively newbie pilot. I’ve been mainly flying the Cessna 172, and occasionally the Bonanza G36 in the Sim. I like what i’m seeing on Youtube about the C310R though because of the choices of realism, etc. My goal is to fly as a newbie first, then as I learn more about it, start bringing in the realism. I also like the comprehensive documentation to help learn it all.
Just a quick question. Would the C310R be as easy to fly as a Bonanza G36 in terms of getting it started, and in the air and landing if you know very little about flying? I would initially be turning off realism, so I won’t initially be caring what most of the dials and instruments show. I just want to ensure it can stay in the air easily without too much of a learning curve.
I think, the 310 is quite easy to start, and get in the air. Mixture, props, crack the throttle, battery, mags, beacon, fuel, engine selection switch, then start button, repeat for other side. Avionics, lights, nav. One thing that was different for me, was no flaps on t/o. This is due to the type of flaps, being under the wings and producing more drag than lift, so no flaps on t/o. During the flight, set mixture by the egt gauges.
No problem using realistic settings from the start. If you stress something, gears, flaps etc, it is easily repaired and it’s just pretend to pay mechanic. Most realistic setting is rarely.
It flies nicely, however, landing is a bit trickier than some other aircraft. My thoughts, and it is only how I do it, is come in too fast with too much power. Cross runway threshold and flair but don’t cut power or you will plop down hard. Practice this a few times before you do it in front of anyone.
There is a youtube video from milvizinc, before the blackbird name change called Milviz C310 WIP Tutorial - How to Use & Proper Controls that is worth watching.
I highly recommend this plane. It is one of my favorites, and I have become a big fan of all the twin engine planes because of it.
Thanks for that. I’ve seen that YouTube video and it was really good. I think I’ll give it a whirl.
Do.
Best plane in sim.
Study level, but an old, simple twin so it isn’t exactly hard to learn of fly. So a great gateway to study level planes, too.
@gleff1 Seconded, thirded, whatever ![]()
Do yourself a favour and for your first take off, turn the volume up loud and open the aircraft’s side window. You’ll fall in love before the wheels leave the ground ![]()
Fourthed if that is possible. ![]()
Same for the 414, with added turbo whine. Love it.
Anyone having autopilot nosedive issues? getting the same with defaults
Are you using the updated WT 430 and 530?
If so, maybe delete it for now. It isn’t working yet with all planes.
Not sure it is your issue, but that’s my best guess knowing only what I know.
Not sure about compatibility with different planes but it definitely conflicts with the pm50 530 and gtn750 mods, you can only run one type or the other.
I fly with the wt 530 mod without any problem (the 750 mod isn’t install), it’s a great mod.
I had a feeling it was the culprit I have the WT and only got issues after installing it , thanks!
remove all PMS50 stuff / GTN750 from community folder and all is fine.
SP1 is the new HL3
i received my Cessna 310 R as a confirmation of purchase from Military Visualizations Inc noreply@sendowl.com in May this year, where can i register to get the latest update…
Thanks for feedback.
Be nice! …
it’s my one of my fave planes in the sim. it’s pretty spectacular. personally, if you want it, i think you should watch some of the excellent videos/guides on how to fly it, then just jump in the deep end. challenge yourself and have fun. the reason to buy it would be because you want everything it offers, that the default aircraft do not.
@gleff1 while what Goalski says there is definitely a good reason to buy it, it’s not the ONLY reason, so don’t let that “depth” put you off if it’s not what you’re immediately after.
I have touched barely 5% of what the aircraft offers, yet I appreciate it for the instantly evident quality and beautiful feel over most of the stock planes. And I still have all of those extra goodie features to explore when I’m ready. Just my POV ![]()
I totally agree that the 310 is usable by anyone from beginners to experts. It gives so many choices that I have barely touched it’s features and I still love it.
