Milviz C310R Official Thread

Is there a G1000 version? Thought I saw this somewhere, but don’t see any options in the aircraft menu.

No there is no G1000 version or at least there isn’t from Milviz.

Maybe though they could do a Stage 2 version like with the Porter and maybe offer a discount to those who buy the original version as an incentive? This kind of Stage 2 thing seems to have worked pretty well in the past with the Porter at any rate and appears to have been quite the crowd pleaser.

That’s too bad. I actually bought this based on some screenshots I saw with a G1000. Looks like they were FSX shots though.

I know it’s not exactly what you want but there is an option to use the GTN 750 which might be an acceptable compromise for you between the G1000 and the GNS 530/430. Not ideal for you I know but maybe it could be a viable option :slightly_smiling_face:

In the past? Are you from the future? It’s not available yet for laymen that bought it via Orbx… or is it?!

Wow!

Have Milviz not released the Stage 2 Porter yet then? I assumed it had been released a while ago given that the Stage 1 version was launched in 2021 (as I recall anyway). That’s quite a delay!

My bad. Maybe a Stage 2 version for the 310 then isn’t such a good idea.

As for me being from the future then no, I am very much from the present.

Hey … the present year is 2045 right? :slightly_smiling_face:

Only kidding :slightly_smiling_face:

Not yet, nope. Eager to try it out!
Maybe they should have changed their name to Blackbeta Simulations

And yep, it’s 2045… did you like the new sim version of that Spitfire Mk.XXI Ramjet? Saved our bacon in the “war of wind power” back in ‘36, huh!?

Yeah. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard about an update for some of their planes…

Warning—- PARODY —- Warning

It’s official. We’re no longer doing the SP for the 310 or the Phase II for the porter or, in fact, anything else at all. I’m just going to go back to bed and sleep this off.

Thanks for your patronage…

End Warning—- PARODY—-End Warning

We’re working both of these.

Ha … yes, they did a fine job with the Ramjet especially given the bargain basement price of just over £5k. An absolute gift if I ever saw one!

CTD a few times with it though but maybe that was to be expected given the recently released SU 256. Nevermind, at least we are still getting support from Msoft for a further 10 years.

Anyway, must get back to my nuclear powered PC. By the way, getting 30 fps now with the new CPU so thankfully a massive improvement all round.

Anyway, take care Baracus and I hope you have a fun night.

Cheers :+1:

Ping @Krazycolin

^^^^^^^^^
(Whilst you’re here!) Is this just me and my machine?

Sorry Baracus. I’m on mobile at the moment and not on my PC. I will test this out tomorrow though. Maybe Krazycolin will chime in before this though if he’s still here.

Not sure if this is related to the issue I had, it sounds different, but as a first step, make sure that “Lens correction” in the graphics settings is disabled. Also, try turning off the red flood light on the ceiling, I seem to remember seeing a bug report about that. Let us know if one of the steps helped with your issue.

Warning----Parody-----Warning

It’s about time

End Warning—Parody—End Warning

Glad to hear. I really like both of these planes.

Well, I tried it again today and it was fine this time. All clickable. So that’s weird. Lens correction was already off.

Having great fun flying the latest SP1. (the pre Dec7 one) What a beautiful plane, and what a great rendition for the sim.
However, I’m wondering about the realism of the power to drag ratio in clean configuration.
I can’t slow this bird down on a normal descent.

I read real world manuals for the 310R asking for 19" MAP / 2200 RPM on approach.
With those settings I can’t slow down to 158 KIAS max. flap extension speed.
Even with 15" MAP / 2200 RPM it’s a fight to make her slow down. Is that really so?
(Landing lights are extended. Total Weight 4400 lbs …ish. e.g. Runway 100ft above sea level, M01 Q1005)

Full flaps, gear down, the drag then is substantial, need to raise MAP/RPM then always quite a bit after being fully configured for landing, for staying around 100 KIAS until over the runway threshold.

Am I doing something wrong?

Oh… and she often wants to veer sideways quite aggressively toward the end of the take of roll, around 90 KIAS. (no wind, no rudder input). Not sure what I’m doing wrong there. Same on landing, having big problems controlling her laterally.
My hardware is Honeycomb Alpha Yoke (sensitivity set -20% for ailerons) and TM TPR Rudder (sensitivity -20%).

Many twin Cessnas (and slick or high performance planes in general) are known to go by the axiom “you can go down or you can slow down, pick one.”

Are you unable to get down into configuration speeds while in level flight or is this only an issue during descent? If it’s the latter, then it’ll be a matter of managing your energy before descent. If you’re late in configuring and have to start down, at some point you can try leveling off for a few seconds until you get within Vfe and Vle speeds, dirty up, and continue your descent.

It gets worse when you have to consider that you don’t want to make major power setting changes quickly up at altitude (“chop and drop”) due to shock cooling, so all that work has to be done well in advance.

I’ll add that its even written into ATC guidelines to expect fast aircraft to briefly level off or reduce their descent rate, uncommunicated, to meet the 250kt speed restriction before descending below 10,000 MSL. I know we’re not talking those kind of speeds here, but the concept is the same.

For this - which direction is it pulling?

Marketplace works again. At least I got one aircraft update from it. Any chances for C310R update in near future?

Good point. I’m still waiting.
