Milviz C310R Official Thread

I don’t see this. I loaded C&D at YBAF and all trims were 0.0. I then set rudder and elevator trims to arbitrary values and ended the flight. When I reloaded C&D all trims were 0.0. I’m not sure that this might also be a bug - are trim values for the C310R supposed to be saved in the state file? - I’m not sure.

PC, Steam, Sim Ver 1.5.3.0, C310R ver 2.1.1

Weird. It’s consistent for me. I can switch liveries and see it do it with each one I try.

It’s the only aircraft I’m seeing this with. I have the Marketplace version., if that has any bearing at all.

It isn’t like a rogue input, either, because I can center them and they remain so until I start another flight.

It might very well have, I manually installed my C310R by copying from MSFS2020.

Well, it isn’t that. I just fired up the sim on my laptop, which has no peripherals connected and the trim is centered.

I wonder if there is some weird peripheral initialization issue on my sim-rig that is doing this on initial load.

I’m going to have to look into it, but as I said it’s just this aircraft doing it.

Dumped the streaming folder and the work folder for the 310R, and the problem with the trim is solved.

Whew.

I have the same issue (on SU3 beta) but I don’t get how you fixed. What are streaming and work folders?

Have you set a custom Community folder location, or are you using the default, because that will determine where the StreamedPackages folder is. You need to delete a folder from there and the contents of the work directory.

Also, if you’re on Steam, the default location is different than MS Store.

I’m on MS Store, so here’s where they are located by default. Note replace username with your Windows username:

StreamedPackages
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\StreamedPackages

In that directory is a folder: fs20-milviz-aircraft-310 delete that, it will be replaced on next launch of the sim.

If you have relocated your Community Folder to a custom location, go there, go up one directory level and you will find the StreamedPackages folder there.

work

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2020\milviz-aircraft-310\work and delete the contents of that work directory. Those files will be reassembled when you load the C310R.

EDIT:

You may as well not bother. It only lasted one sim launch/quit cycle.

I just set up the second flight with the C310 since I deleted the files and the issue with the trim has returned.

I just completed my first night flight in the 310R and I noted the instrument lighting is only lighting the top half of the instruments.

Again, this is in SU3 Beta, I never had the opportunity to fly the 310R at night in 2024 prior to this.

Looks like the same problem being discussed in this thread.

It affects both first- and third-party aircraft since SU2.

Thanks for that–I just had a dual engine failure over the Great Salt Lake today and I couldn’t get a restart. I suspected that it might have been something like you described because only my aux tanks were empty. I didn’t try refilling them from the tablet (seemed like cheating), but no attempts to restart worked. I ended up ditching–except that the stupid back on track feature intervened so I have no idea whether I would have survived. Anyway, I’m going to try your workaround so that hopefully it won’t happen again. Really enjoying this aircraft in MSFS 2024 otherwise.

I am using 310R v2.1.1 and MSFS2024 1.4.20.0. The PMS50 GTN750 and autopilot works for me as expected unless I start a flight in a small field with no parking spots. Then, there is no option but to start the flight directly on the runway and, in that scenario, MSFS will always start with engines running and some autopilot functions, such as the vertical speed, are limited in functionalty. So far, the following procedure fixes this problem (at least in my case):

I select the Asobo GNS530 BEFORE starting the engines (but the avionics off). Once the engines are running I turn avionics on and switch from the Asobo to the PMS50 GTN750 option. Finally, before moving the aircraft I engage the autopilot on the ground to make sure that the VS selector works as expected before take-off. It always has, so far, worked.

Hope this helps.

If you’re on FS2024, this is not right… You can start anywhere on the airfield in cold and dark. There is a menu option to do so.

Thanks for the tip! However, I am not able to find that option anywhere. Could you please be a little more specific? Thanks!

On the World Map, click anywhere and set as departure. Then go up to the drop down menu where you would choose a runway/parking/gate and choose if you want to start already running or C&D.

Great tip! I hadn’t noticed! Thank you. That info is truly appreciated! I attach a screenshot to clarify.
