Milviz C310R Official Thread

I was getting 210 knots ground speed last flight @ 5,500 feet. I’m quite certain I had a tailwind, but even so, IAS was 160+ @ 24” and 2400.

That’s more than I expected.

EDIT: Here is the LNM capture of the Aircraft Performance file, as compared to the current performance of the C414. I find very little difference at cruise altitude (in this case 8,500 feet) while managing to use less fuel.

I can’t tune my NAV radios. They read 0.00 and won’t tune at all. Comm and ADF radio works fine, just the NAV won’t tune. Doesn’t matter if I have the Asobo GNS530 GPS or just the radio navigation selected in Options, still the same. I also tried moving all add-ons from my community folder and still not working. When I load up a default 172 they work fine in the default 172. Anyone seen this behavior before?

EDIT: I reset the failures to never and restarted the plane, it must have been a failure. Seems to work now.

I got around 170 groundspeed and need to go for a second flight to confirm, but have had a few weird issues in the last hour in as much as the sim refusing to start at all. Obvious steps taken but to no avail so until that gets sorted, I am on the ground, but will report back hopefully tomorrow when I am next allowed out to play.

It is certainly an interesting aircraft to operate and I suspect that it is a slow burner that gets even better with time. The chance to appreciate the quirks and foibles is something I look forward to.

That certainly helps – I drop from about 45 FPS, down to the High teens, when I select the two TDS units – the PMS50 units maintain the 45 FPS.

Not really the fault of the TDS units, but more the restricted and non optimal way Asobo forces them to interface their Graphics to MSFS … ?

I couldnt tell any difference to be honest between the first flight of the 310 and any similar aircraft although it must make some. I normally use the 750 and 650 as a twin standalone on the touchscreen as a reference point. Will report back when something useful comes up.

To me, the whole GPS / Flight Plan current state of MSFS is confusing.

Standard Asobo system – PMS50 enhansed GPSs Mods, WT creating a whole new System with advanced Flight Planning, the two system not fully compatible with each other, and now TDS, out to the side, with their potentially great Garmin Trainer solution, but without (it would seem) the support from Asobo & MS, to implement it efficiency .. the same reason why we do not have a RXP “Garmin Trainer” solution.

Hopefully, in 2022, we will see all this come together, with a universally compatible system, with a common, advanced Flight Planning system.

On other third party aircraft you can map the ‘button’ below the detent to “decrease prop 1/2”. Sometimes it needs a third party payware program like Axis and Ohs or Spad to repeat the command.

That makes sense. Thank you!

@FakeWayne8

FYI on those older ADF tuners the bigger tuner/knob/rotating thing alters the first number. The second button controls the second two numbers. You switch between the two by pushing it in once, and push it again to switch back to the other number.

I’ve noticed a lot of ‘it’s been a while..’ in this thread. If you’re like me and have been waiting for something to dust off msfs, this will scratch your itch! Scenery is nice but a good plane is like an old friend. Big thank you Milviz for the best GA out there now.

Got the 310 and about to get the 414!- in terms of what 750 is best to use with them - can the pms and tds 750’’s be installed together in the msfs community folder or will it cause a conflict?(assume they both have similar functionality on the traffic/Tcas side but understand the tds is lacking weather?)

They cannot be installed together; it is one or the other at any given time.

Can I get a copy?

Thanks for the reply - so basically you just need to swap out the related files from the community folder depending which one you are using?

Assume you have both - what’s the main differences and better one to use with the 310/414? (Also have the turbo arrow and kodiak)

The landing gear deploys mid-flight by itself and i can’t retract it. Seems like a bug?

Edit, no its just me touching stuff randomly like the manual extension lever.

I believe that would work quite well. I only have experience with the PMS50 GTN750, and it works a charm. Plus, you have the latest Navigraph data (if you subscribe to that service) instead of using old data from the TDS Garmin-based solution.

Anyone else having random CTD’s in this plane? Have had it happen a few times when using the PMS GTN system, just flew a 2 hour flight with the G530 and crashed on final approach. Not sure what’s up, but its super frustrating.

Instruments backlight too dim. After several flights, it became an eye sore to be honest. Even with the cabin lights ON (both the white and red one), i still think the dim needs to be stronger on all gauges.

Otherwise, stunning aircraft.

I think I am a bit stupid today. Also so native english speaker, so it’s a little hard sometimes. But I do not understand what to do with the cowl flaps. They should be open during the whole flight, that I’d understand. But in what position are they open? With the levers pulled out or with the lever pushed all the way in?

It’s an awesome plane. Loving it. First time I’m taking the Checklists serious, because ther might actually be something wrong… And there is a huge sens of accomplishment getting this thing to the ground smoothly. Or at least without breaking the landing gear.

Just a quick observation…are the cowl simulated visually?
I have checked outside and they do not open.
