Well after a few days of flying the 310, I have to say it is the first airplane that keeps me going back to MSFS! Up until this plane I was still flying X-Plane 99% of the time. Even the excellent Kodiak didn’t do it. I had a Kodiak in X-Plane too, and would always fly that instead. Congratulations MILVIZ! Let’s see if Asobo can keep up their end and fix the remaining issues. Now how about bringing on the King Air!
any news on the paintkit front?
It will be released with the SP. Soon(ish)
More like “Real men don’t use Addon-Linker” !!
But it is the best thing in MSFS since Sliced Planes …

I just flew my first flight into unpredicted icing. I pretty much gangloaded all 4 switches, but I haven’t been able to determine what the de-ice in the lighting group is supposed to do. I saw a bit of rime on one of the engine cowlings, but the performance didn’t appear to be affected. Does anyone know the furthest right de-ice switch’s purpose?
If it is like the Baron, it is a light that shines on the port wing to help show ice buildup.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but this is something you can certainly do in the 310.
The toggle switch for Nav 1/2 is located to the right of the pilots yoke. In this example, I am tracking the POM VOR outbound on 251°, with the CDI set to VLOC and the autopilot coupled to NAV:
Of course you can also have Nav 1 set to a VOR frequency and couple both the CDI and autopilot nav function to this as well.
Man I just love flying this plane so much. I gotta say I’m kind of surprised I don’t see many people using the G5’s. I absolutely love them, along with the dual TDS units. They add such a nice modern touch to an otherwise classic cockpit. Such an aesthetically pleasing look to me.
Question: has anyone figured out what the keybinds for the two aux pumps are?
Can’t speak for everyone but I find them harder to read in the sim. That’s why I prefer the old school steam gauges.
Alternate air provides warmer but unfiltered air from inside the cowl.
Being unfiltered it is undesirable to use it except when necessary to prevent icing. Switching before entering known icing conditions would however make sense.
See page 9 below under “Engines”:
Are there any realism settings in MSFS that will conflict with the Milviz simulation? I didn’t see anything in the manual. Thanks.
Is there anyway to use the G1000NXi?
I am so used to the G1000NXi. Even though the TDS GTN750XI has some upsides it still need help with approaches and general Situational Awareness.
But I am really enjoying the 310R…got almost 20 hours in it now.
When I start a flight Cold and Dark the auto pilot is on??
Nope. There’s no way to add the G1000 to this plane. That option has to be added by the devs. Can’t be added by end users.
You’re probably best off learning to use either the GNS 530 or the GTN units.
happens to me on occasions and it turns off the engines in some aircraft too (not 310 though).
On a related note, for any Air Manager users that fly the C310R, you might want to check here for some free custom made instruments I made for this plane…
Looking for some pointers on how to best use the “owned” and “rented” modes of the aircraft.
Currently I “own” one 310 that is only flown from the last place I landed at. Really enjoying this feeling of actual ownership and trying to keep it as true to life as possible.
However like most of us, I often also get the urge to fly somewhere completely different, but I still want to use the 310. I’m thinking this is a good opportunity to use the “rental” feature. All I would need to do is just get rid of my “owned” tail number in the MSFS settings, and choose a different one for my rental, correct?
The only downside I see in this is that in order for the 310 system to remember I’m in a rental, I would need to use the same rental tail number all the time, whether I’m in Japan, the UK, Brazil, etc…
Just to let you know, I found errors in your C310R manual in the Hardware Input chapter.
In this screen shot is the list of the values for the fuel selector LVARS (L:C310_SW_FUEL_SEL_LEFT and L:C310_SW_FUEL_SEL_RIGHT). The enum values you have listed are incorrect.
The correct values are:
0 - Oppsite Main
1 - Main
2 - Aux
3 - Off
Thought you’d like to know.
Otherwise, all the lvars I’ve used to date are spot on. Thank you to your team for documenting the important input and output lvars so well.
Thanks. I’ve given this to the manual writers
While you’re talking to manual writers, can you look into matching up the checklists? The checklist in the manual doesn’t match up with the one in-game. There are steps in-game that aren’t listed in the manual and vice versa. Not at the computer right now, but I do have a list available if you need it.
Sure… we could use that…
