If I recall correctly, one of the Q&As promised visibility by the end of 2022, but no later than 2023.
When I saw that none of this had came true and we were able to send them our questions, I sent a simple and clear question to one of the later Q&As: when will we get visibility depiction outside the METAR bubbles?
Of course, the question was not asked during the live stream.
Yes - The community itself doesn’t care about it as much as it should. This should have taken far higher priority than generating every blade of grass and rocks dynamically when you walk around it.
That’s another problem, I sensed that they black out the inconvenient questions. But still, something with a lot of votes would be hard to ignore so more community engagement is the key here.
Also there was no update on the data being passed, yet sim incapable of using it. Ideally it should be a bug.

Here’s another great example of what haze should look like - it is present throughout the takeoff, climb and approach phase, and not limited to a circle around the airport. Asobo, please address this in one of your streams! Your competitor sim is doing this right now, and doing a pretty good job of it with some addons. I think the engine is capable of doing this in MSFS. Just a matter of injecting the right data globally from meteoblue.
X Plane 12 now has made another update to further improve their visibility rendering AND their cloud shadowing/coloring. Notice that in X Plane, the amount of light scattering actually depends on the visibilty depiction and not just the time of day!
A potential idea here is for all of us to know when the next dev Q&A is and use the chat to let the devs know our question about this. Are these Dev Q&A dates posted in advance? To me, it seems like Asobo is blissfully unaware of this huge issue in the sim.
