Missing Hold Lines

This had me confused today. I was following ground guidance and when it came time to cross the runway I could see the hold line had been erased off the taxiway. I could see it there, it looked like the paint had just been scrapped off. I had to double back to actually find the lines as I blew by them the first time.

I’ve noticed these phantom lines around many airports. I figured it was an added realism touch. But this looked purposefully removed.

I took a look in Bing Maps and they are clearly there. This is KGNV, Gainesville Regional.

Submitted, What I found curious is how they looked scrubbed off. These ones are especially important as you traverse the runway for a stretch.
