I prefer to allow ATC to assign me a final approach command, which typically includes the runway and transition point. Many times during the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that the transition point is not listed for a given runway. Under Transition, it says “None”. I have not had the necessary transition point for any of my FBW flights for the past several days.
One example is today’s flight from KATL to KTPA. I use the FBW A32NX. ATC assigned me to land on Runway 1L, with transition of PIE. There was no PIE listed for Runway 1L.
I decided to try a workaround. I first keyed in a direct path to PIE. Then I selected Runway 1L with no transition (I had no choice). The resulting flight plan was rather bizarre looking. It ended up that there were a few discontinuities that I had to delete. After that, I was able to complete the landing.
This just seems like a lot of unnecessary work. I’ve had this issue sporadically over the past many months or year, but nowhere near as often as now.
I’m hoping someone else has experienced this problem, and hopefully has a better workaround or solution that I can use.
