ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue: In the missions, whatever mission you choose, you can read in the briefing of the mission the strength of WIND at departure and at arrival. In particular focus on the “arrival wind knots” I explain more here:
- you select the mission and in the box (down left in the screen) where you can read wind knots at departure and arrival you read some numbers. take note of wind at arrival airport (A)
- you open the EFB and select the arrival airport. Then you click on “weather”, take note of wind knots both on METAR and METAF. Take note of this wind (B)
- you play the mission (this is indipendent from airplane) and take note of the wind during the final part of the mission (C).
Now compare the numbers (A,B,C) and you have sometime huge differences. This is a bug in my opinion. Especially when C is much greater than B and A you find yourself in troubles and sometime you cannot land at all with light airplanes (Cessna)
It happened in a mission to NC06 (elk river in USA) that A=0 knots, B=9 knots and I said to myself this was manageable so I accepted the mission.
In the enroute and final part of the flight I had C=39knots !!! with gusts of almost 50 knots.
The Cirrus Vision G2 was shaking so hard that it wasn’t able to keep the flight plan using GPS straight.
If I knew that I wouldn’t have choosen the mission at all (as a pilot should do in cases like this) but even in this case it would be good if the mission was built upfront in a way to have a further option to allow you at least to try a different airport… I tried and I got a “mission failed” which after 1.5 hours of flight lets you disappointed.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
From my experience the results are totally unpredictables and therefore I would say “all the times”.
