MK Studio's Dublin airport update is going to cost current owners...?

Initially my emotions were running a wee bit hot when posting this but I have slowly cooled of and have just decided to try and embrace the quick destination from the “isles” that I enjoy doing…
I’ve got the stunning Edinburgh, Glasgow and Heathrow not to mention the stunning freeware gatwick to remind me of why I love msfs and will support the developers, especially those who continue to give back…
It’s nice having the second runway as well…

Maybe we could put an emphasis and praise on those developers that do give back to the customers.

Agree, we have some truly stunning airports. Just need the ATR release now. Well that and some way of increasing my spare time to fly from/to/with them all. lol.

It reminds me of flightradar.

I paid a few quid to upgrade their Android app with some extra features.

A small number of months later they disabled the paid features and changed it to a subscription model.

Everyone who complained about the rug pull got a sub-ChatGPT response about the benefits of subscribing.

Did I buy a subscription? Funnily enough I did not. And never, ever, ever will.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: yup I remember that!!

Also the 3d aircraft was just part of the general settings… a couple of months later… you will have to sign up to a monthly subscription in order to beable to have access to the 3d model…

Oh and there was also that other website cant remember the name… years they had awesome access to every single airports arrival and departures, had the aircraft type and even rego…
Years and years… then one fateful day… you know have to pay to see the rego type… then a year later… you now have to pay to see what aircraft type is operating…

I’m all for paid stuff… I’ve got loads in regard to msfs… but when its free for a number of years then one day… oh now you have pay…

Absolutely cant wait… was going to wait for milviz but when they announced the hold on their 80-R-72… I definitely know I cant wait… its been so long for a decent turboprop… even sws pc12 was going to be a massive filler and also a long time coming…

I totally forgot… Logain air has both… 72 and 42…

Ill be able to do the dundee belfast flight from the most beautiful city in Scotland…

Will this eventually come to the Marketplace? And will owners of V1 get 30% off on the marketplace place purchase as well?

When you say Marketplace, do you mean for Xbox?

I’m sure I read on a thread about MK’s DUB that there was an Xbox version due?

I bought version 1 when it was first released through the Market Place, I will probably upgrade for the new Runway, but, I cant see all the excitement about the interiors of terminals being modelled.
Do you guys walk through the terminal to board the plane as a RL Pilot would do?

No, but when u park at the gate it looks way better than a a poor fake glass texture

And that would be fine IF they were going to continue to bugfix the 1.x version. But they are NOT. So that means that soon MSFS will have an update that breaks the 1.x version and MK Studio will NOT fix it and you will be forced to buy their new version or go back to a default airport. YOU may wish to support such devs, I do not. I will not buy a single add-on from MK Studio ever again.

Thats your decision, do whatever you want. But please, dont make assumptions that are not true. You are speculating about a hypothetical scenario and act as if it would be a fact.

I think you’re both right. C’mon, we know how these things go by now: they’re not going to support v1 anymore, are they. I’d be very surprised if they do.

So in that sense, yes, it is a forced paid upgrade. And I can see how that would rub people the wrong way.

How does it compare to Pyreegue’s update to Glasgow? That was pretty major, and there’s another one coming to Edinburgh later this year. Both free of charge.

I’ve noticed this is becoming a bit of thing across the simulation genre. Release a product, update it and charge for the privilege. I’m not sure I like the precedent.

Hi, can anyone help me? I’ve bought and installed the new V2, but it’s not showing correctly in the sim… there are definitely some differences but the new runway isn’t fully there and and textures are not all new! I’ve just realised that I bought it via Simarket and think I got the original via Orbx…. Might I have done something wrong?

Doing a bit of digging. I can see that EIDW V.2 is showing as installed in the Simmarket app, but, when I go to my content manager in the sim it says only V.1 is installed??

But when I go to the community folder, the scenery for EIDW was updated yesterday at the time I “installed” V.2

maybe uninstall V1?

I seem to vaguely remember a similar problem I had a long time ago. In the end it was a duplicate .bgl for the airport that was causing it.

Same here, I don’t support this kind of double dipping.

The only way I would be inclined to agree with you is if the airport was created for a whole different platform altogether, like say, " MSFS 2025", and changes had to made to fit that new platform. This however is robbery. I can understand changes, but a loyal customer base should always “trump” everything else. Even if you discount the updated product by just 15%. It shows a mutual trust and respect for both sides. This is NOT a “FS community” anymore, at least as far as the payware devs are concerned, It’s a money cash grabbing tactic to see how many times can I keep you spending your hard earned cash, even in the throws of a recession. Absolutely NO excuse for this BS !!!
