Monitor for G1000 is this any good?

I’m currently looking at this external portable monitor to use as a pop out for the G1000 PFD.

ASUS ZenScreen MB16ACE 15.6in 60Hz Portable IPS Monitor

The only thing is it connects via a USB instead of a HDMI cable. Does anyone know if this would affect the performance or would be the same as using a monitor connected to HDMI?

Why not go for a TouchScreen? Many of us use the WIMAXIT 15.6 for this.

I have not seen a performance difference between a USB and HDMI connection when using an external monitor.

FWIW, I finally decided to use android devices, connected wirelessly using a free software called spacedesk.

A Samsung Tab S7+ (12.4inches) and an older Samsung Tab S2 (9.7inches).

Both devices have Super Amoled touch screens.
The 10in Tab S2 can be picked up for around 50/80 dollars on Ebay. It’s a great value, has great graphics, can be updated to Android 10 with LineageOS. It’s extremely light (389g), so it makes a great ebook reader, when not in use for MSFS.
It can also be used as a GPS device in a car, as a media consumption device on the go, and as a phone (LTE versions).
Also, repurposing older devices is eco-friendly

Same result can be achieved using Apple iPads, as Spacedesk is available on iOS.

Thanks for the advice. I did forget to mention that I’ve used used Spacedesk on my iPad but find it extremely laggy. Also I use my iPad for Navigraph charts which is another reason for wanting an external display, but not as expensive as an iPad.

Thank you for the information, it’s good to know.
FWIW, even though Tab S2 dates back to 2016, it was not particularly laggy as a display for G1000 and such, in my experience.
Maybe it has to do with the OS, wifi speeds, or the spacedesk port, not sure. Tab S2 has android 10, and I’m about to install android 11 thanks to LineageOS, an open source project, it gives it a modern twist -at around 80 dollars on ebay with LTE, it’s a bargain

Of course Tab S7+ is a more modern device, like modern iPad Pros, more powerful, heavier, pretty expensive. Samsung just launched Tab S8 Ultra: 14.6in Super Amoled, est. MSRP 1200 USD.

I run a pair of these

Mounted (via custom bracket from Stay Level Avionix) to the top of the Alpha and Bravo.
