Monitor recommendation please

Hey guys,

I’m not super tech savvy and I need a little help for a recommendation for a monitor please.

I want a monitor that can possibly display at highest settings with highest traffic and weather, at smooth frame rate. My budget is under $700 (or close to it). 4K maybe? What will be most compatible with my system?

My system specs is on profile.

Thanks for the recommendations!

I just bought a Samsung LU32J590UQNXZ 32" 4K UHD on Amazon. I just needed a bigger monitor with anti-glare screen treatment and it had these. It’s on sale on Amazon until tomorrow too so I bought it straight away.

I went Ultrawide and I am very glad I did.

I use an LG display with 21:9 ratio (UW-UXGA 2560x1080).
I get very smooth performance with an i5 9400F and 1660 Ti combo with 16Gigs RAM.

21:9 is also available as UW-QHD 3440x1440, which may work well with your CPU/GPU.

21:9 gives a significant horizontal real estate bump relative to a 16:9.

With your awesome specs you should be able to get a kickass monitor. I would start looking minimum at a WQHD 1440p curved, something like an ASUS Tuf, 32"

Asus TUF Gaming VG32VQ 32” Curved Gaming Monitor FreeSync HDR Elmb Sync 1440P 144Hz 1ms update

(Note the 165/144mhz refresh, and the 1ms update rates. also the free/G sync or whatever they call it)

I bought (2) of their TUF 27" in 1920x1080 to keep the resolution lower, and so FPS higher. I would have liked a bigger monitor, but at 1080p more then +/-27" equals blury-er(?).

A 21:9 extra-wide as mentioned above would be VERY sweet (2 even better ;)), but it depends on how the sim(s) handle it…do they just stretch the main image, or do they actually add content?

*I ended up with a vertical layout of my 2 monitors “extended”, as in the combat sims I fly, I do/can see more data, which is great for dogfighting in turning fights.

In MSFS I can window the sim, and drag it down overlapping both, and stretch just a bit to see the cockpit easier. 2 monitors also allows me to pull out things like the VR map and Nav Logs onto the 2nd monitor. (and also have google maps open)

I currently have an ultrawide, it’s awesome for productivity but not so much for gaming. I’ll keep my ultrawide obviously, just need a display port, probably use it for the avionics too!

It supports UW resolutions yes it’s what I run.

Thanks for all your replies!! I ended up getting a Dell s3220dgf monitor. 32” 2560x1440, 165hz. I’m pretty happy with it and I highly recommend it. Right now it’s on sale for $449.
