This year I tried the following monitors:
SAMSUNG CRG 9, 49" 5120x1440
50" LG 4k TV
LG 32GK650 32" Freesync
LG 38GN950
The samsung was too wide and narrow. Couldnt see the instruments and there was major distortion on the sides (at least in xplane). Don’t recommend.
The 50" TV was a very good visual experience, but the lack of Gsync, poor performance with 4k, and glossy reflective screen just wasn’t good enough for an everyday experience.
The 32" LG was very smooth, at 144hz, but just a bit too small and old fashioned.
The 38" LG widescreen is the sweet spot- the 3840x1600 resolution is just perfect- more vertical space for instruments. the nanoips is beautiful. It is expensive but so worth it.
