Mooney 20R Ovation Toggle Spoilers Not Working

Toggle Spoilers no longer working since WU 6

Assign them to a slider or axis. They still work for me.

for me it works perfect!
Sorry, I don’t know the english designations
but you are right if you use only one counter to switch.
In the controller options you have a second possibility to extend and retract the spoilers.
“Extend the spoilers” and “retract the spoilers”
But then you need 2 switches for the spoilers and that works perfectly for me.
Hope that was understandable, but I only know the German names

They work on an axis? I had a button on my Streamdeck, bound to “/” I think, making them ON/OFF. I haven’t flown the Mooney in months though, and I have read that it is still awaiting an update for sim compatibility.

The “toggle” option has been broken since the SU5 update. Carenado has been informed about this and the other issues that stopped working since SU5. They stated they are working on an update which has yet to appear for the Mooney. Their other aircraft have been updated since SU5 but we’re still waiting for the Mooney update.

You can search the forums if you want to know more things that broke since SU5. There’s several topics on the subject.

its a MSFS problem, not one from Carenado

Frankly I don’t care who broke what. It happened in SU5 and Carenado is working on fixing issues from SU5 but has yet to release them.

Anyway, how do you know it’s a “MSFS” issue? Carenado has publicly stated they will release fixes for things that broke after SU5. I haven’t seen where MSFS steted they broke the toggle button for spoilers so where did you learn that?

If Carenado didn’t change their plane, and Asobo released an update to the sim which made the plane that didn’t change stop working, then the sim change broke it.

But, if the sim, which we should remind ourselves is in a constant state of flux, had something changed which means that Carenado’s way of doing a thing is no longer valid according to the SDK, then Carenado have to rejig their plane so that it is valid.

Asobo will have valid reasons why they implement certain changes, and they can’t go rolling back any change that conflicts with a 3PD’s work otherwise we’d never get anywhere.

because every plane that has spoilers dont work anymore with the ‘‘toggle spoiler’’

Mooney’s spoilers work fine, like with every plane, if you bind spoilers out/in

I realize it’s only the “toggle” binding that stopped working for the spoilers. But I agree with @hobanagerik. It’s Carenado’s responsibility to make updates to their planes when something in the SDK changes. That’s how software works. Software developers always have to update their software as the prime company changes the base code. That’s what ahppened in SU5 and all of the 3rd party companies are updating.

Still don’t see the update in my content manager. Still version 1.3 which is broken.

I know. I keep checking but I guess MSFS has not made it available yet.
Tomorrow, Sept. 17, there is going to be a “Hot Fix” maybe it will get added in then???

Update is available as of now.

Great news, I will check it out. Hope all issues are fixed.

Finally got the update this morning. Update went fine. Switches and gauges working again. But there is something wrong with the flight model. Ailerons are over sensitive in flight. Airplane constantly banks left and right in flight. Even with the autopilot on. On landing the ground handling is all over the place now. I tested all this in no wind conditions. I made adjustments to the sensitivity in my Alpha yoke profile. Still can’t get the aircraft to be more stable. This is very disappointing. I have always really like Carenado’s aircraft. But right now they are just not that good anymore. Bummer. The M20R was one of my favorites.

Suggest to switch from modern flight model to legacy.
Fly for a few seconds and switch back to the correct modern flight model.
This might fix your issue.

Thanks. I’ll try that.

With update 1.19.9.0 most of my Mooney M20R problems seem to be fixed
Avionics, spoilers and fuel change over all OK
