for me it works perfect!
Sorry, I don’t know the english designations
but you are right if you use only one counter to switch.
In the controller options you have a second possibility to extend and retract the spoilers.
“Extend the spoilers” and “retract the spoilers”
But then you need 2 switches for the spoilers and that works perfectly for me.
Hope that was understandable, but I only know the German names
