Mooney M20R A/P doesnt take altimeter setting into account!

A/P set at 4000 feet, flying at 3770 feet because of current alt setting 29.71. At 29.92 it’s 4000 feet.

Anyone else having an issue with the A/P nosing up and down wildly when setting/arming a new altitude or v/s?

I’ve had zero AP troubles since the update released yesterday. It has been really good.

Same for me, all working well.

It’s a KFC-150 Autopilot (it’s Finger liking mediocre!)

It only works off Static Pressure altitude. It can’t be adjusted, You just level off where you want. Then hit [ALT] and it holds altitude at that particular air pressure. So you move from high pressure to low pressure, you’re gonna go down unless you adjust your altitude with the [up] [down] buttons.

It’s not Set it and forget it like the G1000.

edit: just noticed it has the KAS 297B Altitude selector, but doesn’t have an “ENCODING” altimeter so yea, Looks like it knows Pressure Altitude only.

Thanks for the explanation. I noticed the issue but I didn’t want to assume this AP was as good as the G1000 but I’m also too lazy to look it up myself  Assumptions cause a great many problems so I try not to make them.
