Mouse and xbox issues

after doing a flight and going into the menu to sort another flight plan, when the flight is loaded i find most time the mouse doesnt control the pointer any more. button on the mouse work, i can use the mouse to alter views by moving it but no pointer. so i cant access the on screen functions and modes. the mouse shows up in control option but wont move the pointer in the menus either. only shutting the sim down abd re-starting it makes it do its thing again. anyone else have this problem? this is on xbox s

Thanks Patrick ,also found out pushing down on the left joystick on the game pad controls to pointer
