Yep. It’s a nightmare, because when it moves the camera too fast it also creates massive stutters as things previously out of view have to be loaded fast. So it’s doubly annoying, the lack of control of the camera itself, and the resulting stutters.
Surely it’s a simple quick fix, just to remove mouse acceleration? If they can’t do this, it doesn’t fill you with confidence for the mountain of more complicated bugs and errors in the sim…
I even started a mission with the plane over a hangar! In addition to the fact that after a free flight the system crashes when you return to the main menu. But these are some of the most annoying bugs. It is absurd to have released a software without even testing it once on Xbox.
I play on xbox series x and i use a mouse to do my stuff in cockpit and EFB during long haul flights with study level aircraft.
I binded the “right click” button to use it as free look camera in cockpit while clicking and holding the button.
When the sim got released, the camera spinned around like crazy when using this camera feature.
Now when i click and hold it, nothing happens at all, the sim recognizes my “click and hold”, but the free look camera wont move at all.
Its sad to see this didnt get fixed.
It worked just fine in FS2020.
And the demand for a fix is very high, just look at the bug votes.
I am sure i can speak for many simmers when I say: not being able to use the mouse and its camera/moving features as intended, it makes the sim literally unplayable, atleast when you want to do “real” flights with all the aircraft features.
Kind of surreal they still haven’t fixed this bug in nearly 5 months. Like what? Mouse interaction on a computer screen has been in use since the 70’ lol. The basic of human interaction with computers cannot be fixed by the biggest computing company in the world on their longest running franchise on top of that.
They don’t play their own games. Ridi ■■■■■■■ Lous
It’s actually getting disgusting at this point, imagine if the new battlefield game released and the cursor had a deadzone and forced mouse acceleration.
This shouldve been fixed the first week and considered top priority, despicable.
i’ll tell you: you’re not supposed to play it with a mouse, use a xbox and your golden.
In all seriousness, negative mouse acceleration has been an issue since one of the earliest updates in FS2020, introduced in an effort to make the game more comfortable for controller users. This clearly highlights the developers’ priorities.
Beyond the mouse bug described here, another issue is negative acceleration. Essentially, if your mouse movement falls below a certain speed, the game fails to register it properly, resulting in laggy, stuttering view movement, as demonstrated in this video. Under normal circumstances, mouse input should always provide smooth and consistent movement. However, in the simulator, this is not the case. At the 1-minute mark, the video switches to head tracking, which maintains the same steady motion—yet unlike mouse input, it translates correctly within the game.
Coming from MSFS, the mouse acceleration is awful, I can’t believe that annoyance is still there after 4 months. Haven’t guys at Asobo tried their sim with a mouse?
Going back to MSFS until it’s fixed (if it’s fixed…, who remembers the frozen controls while panning the view by holding the mouse right click?)
To this day FS2020 has the same issue! If you realy want linear/correct mouse input, switch to Xplane or FSX.
FS2024, in addition to that, has the input crosstalk bug.
