Mouse is not constrained to MSFS window in VR

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Mouse is not constrained to MSFS window in VR, meaning we can not click on things.

When the mouse is moved off of the window, then you get zero input anymore in the sim.

This broke with the first SU1 testing, and was reported then, this is a game breaking bug considering using several things does not work with VR controllers, and we need mouse currently to use the EFB map for example currently.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?

Yes, was broken with SU1

Why you don’t keep the MSFS maximized full screen? You can’t see the screen anyway when you have the headset donned.

I am also streaming to Twitch and Youtube, so it can not be minimized.
Minimizing also makes the controls not work, and those are important to fly the aircraft.

Previously, if MSFS was in focus, and you moved the mouse to the side, you would have the VR cursor visible as it moves across the aircraft dashboard in each screen, and then the desktop mouse is superimposed “on” the MSFS screen, as soon as it “hit” the edge, it would snap to the opposite side. This was the behavior side to side and up and down.

Now when it reaches the side, it just moves off of MSFS 2024 and to another screen, as if the sim is not in focus, but it is.

I remember both Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2 had this bug on PC launch because the developers were testing on single screen computers. Multiple screens and VR might not be a combo they tested with, but it is a regression, because it did not do this in the SU1 Beta tests and prior.

Sorry I meant “maximized” (full screen mode). I corrected my previous post.

I have tried every mode, that is the problem with SU2, the mouse moves off no matter what.

I have tried different resolutions, moving it to other screens, it does not stay in the game screen when in VR

Not for me it didn’t last night, I have to exit and enter VR again to make the mouse stay within the window. I have it windowed as I have other external apps running that I like to check in on every now and then, this really is a simple mouse logic issue that should be fixed this beta.

Deleted my previous post, I had been going in and out of VR multiple times, and might have lead to this behavior, will have to confirm now
