My mouse pointer has today decided that it not allow me to either minimise or close the down the screen as it refuses to enter the white top bar, any ideas please?.
Sorry, I should point out that I use windowed mode!.
hold alt + enter , this will make msfs screen go out of fullscreen mode even in windowed mode. then buttons should be clickable.

Thanks for the input , thought I would see if shutdown and restart would fix it, and it did!.
Windows key + D will minimise everything to the desktop (and same combination again to reset back to how it was).
