It is a known issue. Still not clear what does it. For me it turns out to have been my touchpad on my laptop. I disabled it and since haven’t had the issue. But others have reported different causes and various solutions.
Try opening the VFR map and move it around the screen. It should fix the issue for now.
Yes. Every single flight. After about 10 to 20 minutes, it completely locks up. The game’s not frozen, but I can’t do anything with the mouse other than look around and open, close, and interact with menus. I’ve decided I’m going to try the troubleshooting steps listed, and if those don’t work, I won’t be playing until a patch fixes it.
If you double click the top bar on the nav log, camera or atc window it fixes it for me 100% of the time
That just happened two times in a row during a three hours flight after confirming an ATC message.
Is there any workaround?
Read the opening post.
I already tried all of them. None of 'em worked, finally the whole sim crashed - which happened the first time to me. I was hoping there were new findings. For now I try to avoid using TBM.
That’s a shame, usually, double-clicking the top of a popout window fixes it.

Yes, this is my single most annoying issue with MSFS so far which seems to inevitably happen on any long flight.
If it helps to diagnose the issue, I’m on a multimonitor setup 3x1080p, and will often switch back and forth from my flight to other Windows applications by just moving the mouse outside the game window. It seems to stop working when switching back, then won’t work again until I restart a flight, though my Xbox One pad continues to work for the usual flight controls.
I hope they fix this bug. It’s annoying.
As do I

Mouse stops working only after using keyboard Heading ( Ctrl + Ins/Del ) and Autopilot Alt ( Ctrl + PgUp/PgDn ).
After pressing the keys a few times, to change settings, the mouse disappears. It does not happen right away.
The mouse will come back after 1-3 min give or take.
Also, the keyboard stops working.
In case ppl missed it, te most common fix is to click and hold on the ATC window bar, and just wiggle it around a bit hat seems to restore the mouse to working again.
open the bar map gps and fuel screen, fill up with some fuel and return…
Double clicking the title bar of ATC window fixed it for me. Thanks
Just encountered this problem, your solution was spot on, thanks!!
More then a month and still no Fix! Sad.
There are so many bugs!
- Boeing 747 cant control throttle after sometime of flight!
- Airbus 320 one engine stop working after successful starting!
- Mouse stop working as above!
- AI is horrible in flying aircraft keep taking plane above with no limits wont consider altitude meter.
- Even controller stop responding mid air of flight cant change throttle.
- Aircraft wont go reverse even when max reverse throttle is set( I know no brakes applied or parking brakes ofc).
Completely unplayable! Please fix !!!
Thanks Nyx1819 this has happened to me and I always click different parts of the cockpit to get it back working again. My problem is I have no action at all with my mouse wont go back or shift down nor left or right or back it is just frozen looking forward.
This issue has just happened to me for the first time so voted
Hi everyone, sometimes in full flight with the Boeing 787-10. I encounter problems blocking the computer mouse. At first it goes then after an hour’s flight I can no longer zoom in with the mouse’s central wheel and I can no longer turn a button or push a button on the dashboard of the plane. of course i no longer have control of the plane because i can no longer press any button or switch.
do you encounter this problem with the mouse?
