I started using Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox, I have since moved to PC and no longer own an XBOX. Though I initially purchased MSFS 2020 through the xbox store and purchased MSFS 2024 through the microsoft store. Do I need a subscription service to continue to play MSFS2024 on PC without losing my purchased Addons? I do not play any other games, just MSFS. I just cannot find an answer to this question. If I no longer renew my Xbox subscription can I continue too use MSFS2024 on PC?

You have a Game Pass Core subscription, yes?
That is needed for Xbox users to be able to play Multiplayer and Coop games on the Xbox Network.
Interestingly, the same restriction doesn’t seem to apply to PC users.
You can cancel your Xbox Game Pass subscription. Do not delete/cancel your Xbox account — aka your “Gamertag”. Your Xbox account is what your purchases are linked to.
As long as you are logged in on the Xbox App on your PC, you will have access to your purchases both from the MS Store and within the sim itself.
Here’s a helpful breakdown of the key points:
Thank you for the info. I’ve been playing on PC for three years and no longer have an xbox, but thoght I had to still pay for Xbox Gold to continue using MSFS on PC. Much appreciated.
Looking at your topic, I thought you had made a mistake that even a friend of mine made, which was to use MSFS 2020 through Gamepass and make the mistake of buying Premium Deluxe in the Marketplace within the simulator. By buying it through it instead of in the store or an external reseller, you are hostage to the gamepass. Since you bought it through the store, you won’t have this problem.
Yes, I originally bought MSFS 2020 on Xbox. But bought MSFS 2024 on the Microsoft store on PC. My Gold membership ends in October, which I just cancelled. Lets see what happens then.
Mine expired. I can still fly but probably not in multiplayer, which I never did anyway.
