Moving up to a better rig -- please check my proposed specs!

Well. I must say, I am as happy as a pig in ****! I received the last item on my game rig upgrade yesterday - the HP Reverb G2. After unboxing and setting it up, I lit it up and was initially somewhat surprised and disappointed. The image was subdued and not as sharp as I had been expecting. However, it was still way superior to my Vive Pro (no discernable screen door effect at all, much clearer, brighter and sharper). But somehow, not as bright or as sharp as I had hoped, plus there was a strange horizontal line across the center of the image. It was fuzzy, out of focus and very faint but always noticeable. I was thinking there was something wrong with the lenses. Checked them out and, alas, there was a blue tinted, plastic protective layer over the lens! Took those off and…WOW! For me, at least an order of magnitude improvement over the Vive Pro. My first foray back into an MSFS2020 plane validated that I could read every display item. In the Vive Pro, I could read only the very largest text and even then only after zooming in. I had also read negative opinions about the FOV on the G2. I have no issue with it - it is at least as good as the Vive Pro and as my only frame of reference I am comfortable with it. Other comments about the small sweet spot were likewise not significant to me. That attribute seems to mimic my natural eyesight. Whatever I have focused my attention on in the G2 is very sharp and very crisp. Secondary visuals moving toward my peripheral vision fade gradually from my attention and focus just like anything I look at in real life. The icing on the cake was my ability this afternoon to successfully link my headset with my Index controllers. Everything is now connected and working smoothly.

Now, if I can only learn to fly and talk on the radio at the same time - I checked out those ATC websites you provided PHRogers48 and realize I have a lot of learning coming my way… I hope you are zeroing in on your new rig’s specs and will be joining me soon in the ‘pig pen’.

FallBrake669307, your new rig has to have you oinking up a storm, too!
