MP Scenery KHAF (Half Moon Bay in Northern California) - bug or abandonware?

Is anyone else having this issue? I haven’t heard back from the developer in weeks.

I just loaded C&D there and I do not have that issue.

Hello @DirefulSine5563 ,
Kindly remember to not use General Discussion for help, advice, or troubleshooting. I have moved your post to World, which is for discussing scenery, airports, and weather.

Please see these other subcategories for future reference:

  • Aircraft
is where you discuss current or future planes coming to MSFS.
  • World
is where you discuss scenery, airports, and weather.
  • Aviate, Navigate, Communicate
is where you ask for help with flying.
  • Tech Talk
is where you discuss graphics, drivers, installation, performance, CTDs, and hardware.
  • Menus & Activities
is where you discuss activities (landing challenges, bush trips, etc), plus anything accessed through the menus including the Marketplace, settings, logbook, cameras, etc.

Thank you.

I meant to give you a screenshot:

Are there addons you have for the area that could be interacting with this? Or any World Updates you are missing perhaps?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated.

It happens intermittently and comes and goes depending on where you are in the scenery. Note the altitude at the screen cap below (about 2000 ft).

I’m using Just Flight’s PA-28R Turbo Arrow III, 32 GB of RAM, i7-8700k and an nVidia GTX 1070ti card. No overclock.

There is no issue when I uninstalled the airport and remove everything from the Community folder.

It used to work without issues with stuff in the Community folder eg. San Mateo waterfix, WeLove VFR, the marinas add-on, and shipping add-ons (GAIST and Seafront). I started noticing it only after MSFS World Update 13.

Screen cap below of my add-ons from the “Add-on Linker” app.

I’ll do another test and remove everything in the Community folder again, reboot the PC, and report back here. Maybe I’ll get lucky this time.

I don’t have much running in the background in Windows 10 Pro. Basically, just a printer driver, a screen capture app, and the Steam client (I have MSFS in Steam). No anti-virus.

The only way to get to root cause is to clear your entire Community folder and run the sim as vanilla as you can.

I just did that, removed everything from the Community folder to do another test. But guess what?

I can not launch MSFS because of a graphic driver issue. It looks like I have to upgrade to the latest GPU driver again(!).

The reason why I’m now running an older driver (v526.98) to begin with was because I was using the latest driver then (early May) and I kept getting the graphic driver error. Installing the old driver v526.98 solved that issue.

I hope this isn’t a pointing finger issue: add-on developers vs MSFS vs nVidia.

I’m now wondering if I have the Dev’s current email which might explain why I have not had any replies from the dev since April (see below). I did get a reply from the dev using the same email regarding a different issue.

The prior issue I am referring to in the email had to do with double radomes (sp? radar domes) that would show up when using with another addon “We Love VFR” (which installed the important radar antennae’s missing on the San Bruno mountains north of KSFO -San Francisco International Airport in the default scenery).

Take out the water fixes. I think that might be your problem.

Thank you. I upgraded the nVidia GPU driver and the waterfixes. The drivers made changes to my Graphics Options in MSFS. The new drivers defaulted to “Custom” graphics settings in MSFS’ Option screen. I changed that to “High-End” and tweaked about half a dozen other settings. These apparently fixed the problem except for some shimmering that I didn’t have previously.

Edit: I guess I spoke too soon. The upgrade did not solve the issue. I’m still having the same problem.

Edit2: I did a LOT of testing, and I’m running into that dreaded debugging word: “intermittent”.
