I’m one of the fortunate ones whose initial install went well and I’ve been so pleased with MSFS despite its various issues until…the last patch was installed. What I do with the sim so far still works, but IMAGE QUALITY has deteriorated significantly to the point I don’t want to use the sim any longer until it’s restored to at least as good or better than it was. Also noted is my 9900K is half asleep now. I had been seeing CPU utilizaition arveraging aound 40-50% hyperhreaded w/ great performance–now I see it’s average utilization is maybe half that if that. Meanwhile, scenery detail suffers very signficantly. Wretched pixelated roadways looking out the window from a few K feet. It’s just lost it very reason d’tre, which IS image quality ultimately. Sliders still close to Ultra all the way.
Put another way it’s very raison d’etre has disappeared suddenly. Let’s face it a full sim it’s lacking, but scenery ALWAYS needs to be best possible. I’d like a refund now and will repurchase it this gets restored. I’m really bummed! Reshuffling thread management intenally, instead of committing to USER CONTROL for any of these things so that performance can be matched w/ hardware is always the right path.
Lol no, why would you expect a refund if you’ve had it since launch and have been playing it…what sounds like a lot. They released a bad patch, they didn’t shut the game down. Let’s be real here.
If you use the rolling cache file, delete it and let it rebuild.
I had massive stutters after the patch and the scenery loaded laggy. I use the rolling cache with a 40GB file and after I deleted it everything was back to normal.
I been spending just as much time reinstalling the game than playing it…Since the patches the game has gone downhill fast and im getting sick of it. Is it possible to get a refund until this game is out of beta?.
Reinstalling often helps nothing but if anything it makes it worse. Eveytime you reinstall you make changes to registry, file structure, storage. And why should it change then?? Usually it‘s one specific file that needs to be corrected, changed or simply a computer setting that needs to be adjusted.
Obviously I do not know you and how experienced with flight sims you are so if you know all that, please bear with me.
When you experience performance issues make sure that your computer‘s energy management is completely set to max performance. Make sure possible control applications of your graphic card like eg nvidia experience don‘t intervene. Make sure your drivers are up to date, I can recommend driver booster for that, it‘s freeware and doesn‘t install any ads as far as I am aware. Make sure that, when you try to fix problems, you don‘t have any tweaks made to the sim‘s original files and that your community folder is empty.
So many people are perfecrly able to use the sim so there must be something right, it‘s not broken itself. And from experience I can certainly tell you that the flight sim community will help you if you ask. I can recommend avsim.com for that too.
