MS Please separate these forums

It is almost impossible to use this forum when using MSFS 2020.
Inspite of tagging both 2024 and 2020 are completely mixed.
Half the time one starts reading a post only to realise it is about the ‘other’ version.
For example I am not remotely interested in any posts concerning 2024 as I dont use it. For others it may be the other way round.
MS you went out of your way to tell us that 2024 wasnt an upgrade but a completely different and new Sim.
Fine, please give it its own forum in that case.
The current forum is becoming a mess and more and more difficult to use.
Please separate them and bring some order into this chaos.

Agreed, shouldn’t be to hard to create a subfolder for 2020.

I agree 100 %. Because of the mess, I do not come here as often I used to. And I am using 2020.

This should be on the wishlist so people can vote for it.

I am 110% behind this proposal, in fact it has been in my head for a while to create a ‘Wishlist’ post asking for the same thing. I believe that it should be structured such that, if the 2020 tag is selected then all of the traditional category headings should be available but with only 2020 related topics included. Likewise for 2024. The OP is spot on - the Forum is currently chaotic.

I seem to recall that all this was discussed somewhere last year, so the ship has sailed, so to speak? It is what it is; they are collecting feedback and the community has a place to converse.

Why not do this, under ‘Preferences/Tracking’?

From the Wishlist category pegged article Why is my wish rejected:

So, how exactly how do we request forum design updates? Or is @Asobo saying “request denied”?

Even when you do that, you still see tags for MFS2024…

This topic is the proper way.
The CM’s review pretty well anything posted, so you can be sure they are aware any topic like this that draws a lot of responses.

110% agree. You can leave the main “General Discussion” for FS24 (or rename it appropriately) as obviously that is the future. Please create a separate forum specifically for FS2020. That way we can talk about it in one place.

Hi all,

Whilst I can’t comment further on this exact topic and future plans for the forums right now, I’ve already had a good read through of all of your comments and feedback given today, and I’m sure we will continue to do so!

As pointed out already by one of our mods, we do politely request that you don’t make a Wishlist Item for this topic as it does not relate to a wish for a core sim feature. Making a discussion thread just as has been done so today is a better way for us to track the conversation!

Thanks
The MSFS Team

Only if someone has added the tags MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 when creating a new topic.

That’s odd. I see nearly 10,000.

For me, I like the current tag system and do not want a separate forum. It has been very easy to tell between the two based on the thread title. Thanks. --Redeye

this doesnt work because even when selecting the tag, you will immediately come across poststs concerning 2024.
The simple solution that would stop people from posting in the wrong place to add a selection to the forum asking which Sim you want to read/post and take you there.
Moderators should remove any posts in the wrong ‘forum’.
It is a mess.

because that only works is users bother to tag therir posts.
By forcing a selection up front we stand a better chance that people think a bit more about it.

When I posted a bug thread, it forced me to add a certain number of tags before I could post. One of those was the “MSFS-2024” tag IIRC. So it can be done.
