Did you ‘verify the files’?
In steam? yes…thinking that my install was ferkd.
That always deletes the MSFS files, for some bizarre reason.
well that’s fun, well at least i have fiber, guess I’ll go fly my REP 172 around in XP11 and enjoy the sega scenery.
That’s a no no with this game, some sort of bug with MS stuff, real bummer. I fell for it last year too, it forces a complete re-download. Sorry man.
Good news is it’s working … Bad news is it’s downloading all 153 GB instead of just update III 
Did you verify the files on Steam?
Whatever you do don’t do that! Using the ‘Verify Integrity’ option in Steam causes the entire sim to re-download itself, all 100GB.
The servers are indeed back online.
I went into offline mode in steam.
Then shut down steam.
Then restarted steam.
Went into online mode…and MSFS starts up fine now
All good folks, game is definitely up and running again. Thanks for the input.

Yes … it looks like that was a mistake. So frustrating …
Walked away for a little while. All good now at 0628 Zulu.
There was an issue on Steam side.

Now I wish I hadn’t done that last night…
I’m not on Steam, and I got “We couldn’t sign you in to Xbox Live” today with a code, 0x87DD0003.
Fortunately, signing out of the MS Store and signing back in helped, but boy was that a sinking feeling when that happened.
