Yeah… it’s the idiot users. MS has no fault in this nor does Asobo.
Any thoughts on how the idiot users here on the forum are at fault for things like non working bindings, no sound, etc?

gets to between 70 ands 89% then CTD 4 times nmow. On the upside it get there faster every time

As long as the user/buyer is put back into the que, - possibly due to overload - ,
after each time the loading stops at 98%, and the initialization trial begins from the beginning at zero % ,so long the load of the servers is multiplied by the average number of trials of each individual.
The software does not have a resume capability !!!
You can’t do anything. It’s not your fault. If I did not experience this disaster myself, I would have said it’s unbelievable.

It’s not a UK wide issue. It’s a global issue. I’m not in the UK and I can’t start a flight either.

Im in UK. Loaded it ok this morning - took 10 mins - after trying all day yesterday. Works OK so far but doesnt close flights properly. Not done a proper flight yet because still configuring controls.

Lucky you. I am stuck. Empty “Official2020” and “Official2024” folders. No reply to the ticker I raised. No acknowledgement from Microsoft or Asobo. I’ll keep trying for a few days, and then it will file a request for a refund. What a disaster of a launch.
Mine has installed fine and all the community and one store folders are empty.This is because its streaming the scenery/ aircraft, not putting them in folders.Thought you should know about folders.It says streaming agaunst each entry, not installed.
I spent 4 hours messing about yesterday though
31 hours in, 0 minutes flying, not even seen the UI yet. Never got past 97% and reloaded at least 10 times. Most stopped at 97% and the last attempt was at 9% for over an hour. When are we going to get a 2nd update ???
I just wanted to let you know that I had a refund in my bank within 2 days bought mine through STEAM, I think they should freeze the download of MSFS2040 and re release it under a different version number once all the problems have been resolved. The biggest mistake here has been building a completely new game instead of using MSFS2020 as the initial building block under a new Version name, I have faith in our community together we should be able to influence change especially in the Testing regime for MSFS2040

Bit late for that now mate. If your not happy with it you’ve done the right thing getting a refund and you can bale in again in the future if you see its improved.
Re–issuing it would only cause more chaos.

How does YouTube handle streaming quite literally hundreds of terabytes per hour of 4K video without as much as a hitch? Same could be asked about Netflix or HBO. You don’t realise that the highway you speak of is a million lanes wide on both sides but that Microsoft decided to put a 2mph speed limit on their lane. This was their decision Charles, it’s not a physics limit that was hit. Microsoft could have absolutely offered more resources to this problem from day one, considering they literally own a scalable cloud company called Azure. You have a dreadful psychological tendancy to see stupidity in ordinary people but not necesssarily in big organisations. It’s not the customers fault that what they were promised wasn’t delivered on, that’s the companies fault. Get used to that idea, companies frequently mess up.
