MS Store Update?

Have found a couple of old posts but none have helped. SO: As is usual, I checked MS Store for updates first. None. So I launch Flight Sim. Halfway through it informs me of a mandatory update and tells me to update via MS Store first. So I click the OK button, whereupon Flight Sim shuts itself down and opens MS Store for me. So I 'Check for updates ’ again - nothing. Have been going around in circles like this about 6 or 7 times in the last 12 hours or so. As I have said, I can find no useable fix (for me) using the search. By the way, I am now running Windows 11 if that makes any difference. Any help or suggestions please?

Have you signed out of your MS account in the MS store and then back in?

I just checked again and now see this. Am about to try the sign out and back in thing…

Signed out, but it wont let me sign back in - “There was an error…”. PC re-boot about to take place!

So after 2 PC resets. . . same result. I usually start FS from a desktop shortcut, but in the MS Store FS says to go to XBox app. So I tried launching from there with same results. So here’s hoping that someone can help me find a solution otherwise I am currently looking at a very expensive icon pic’ !

Since SU5, the Microsoft “XBox App” is linked to the Game, so install that app too and start everything again. Will take some minutes to “link everything together”. Don´t ask why. It´s like that.

EDIT: Also Login with your MS profile at the XBox app.

It’s the same for me with the exception that I was actually able to use the sim (version 1.19.something). The first time I started it after the update was released it told me there was an update available but when I clicked UPDATE it just started the sim without installing any update.

After a while I made the BIG MISTAKE of going in to the app setting and press RESET in an attempt to somehow force it to update. Now both MS Store and the Xbox app says that it isn’t installed and when I try to install it I get an error code.

You likely need to fix the borked gaming service via some Powershell commands as described here:

After you’ve done that it will still take a while until the update propagates to the now repaired Store app. Since I’ve done that it worked via the “Get Updates” menu entry exactly ONCE, now I always have to click the “Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe” entry in the “Installed” category so the product page opens, only there I’ll find the “Update” entry when clicking the 3 dots button.

That’s not correct. It’s still supposed to work without that app, installing the Xbox app is just a simple workaround to get around the borked gaming services issue. Doesn’t always work tho.

Well, enough is enough. Tried the above and it didnt work. I had a feeling it was connected to windows 11 as I have been having problems with the task bar. I tried a couple of other things but in the end I did it - I rolled back to windows 10. And when the dust had settled MS Store immediately installed 5 updates and I am now waiting for FS to finish doing it’s thing. Windows 11 can take a hike for a year or two!!

Try this:

It helped me to get the update. I use W11.

I had tried most of those, but thanks anyway.
