MSFS 2020 does little for me. I'm back to X-Plane for now

Okay cyaaaa!

“Many?” The complainers are a handful in actuality. A very vocal minority. The steam reviews are Mostly Positive even with all of the impatient people that gave it a thumbs down because of the download issues on launch, something that’s not even gameplay related.

Jeff, good to see you here - your channel is great! I’m doing lots of liveries you can check out in the user screenshots gallery - and download of course. I’m enjoying this sim WAY too much! It’s hard for me to want to play or do anything else. I’m hoping that the guys at Asobo will license out some of their groundbreaking ideas - or at least X-Plane and Google maps can do something similar. I’ve owned many versions of X-Plane and have supported Austin as well as many 3rd party companies, but it’s nice to have something new to fly that is so much fun and looks off the charts amazing.

Great post but watch where you step, your torch may go out because this grandmother has handled children during puberty. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

People are expressing an opinion not giving a warning, that is the part of the reason this forum exists .

There are a lot of problems being bugs and a lack of functionality in many people’s opinions and there is a fair bit of poetic licence in dismissing this as a handful !

The people that are critical will be the ones that make Asobo / MS develop the sim rather than flogging new people a buggy early less than the full featured sim we expected.

Sorry I just don’t go along with the idea that if we only say how pleased we are it will cause this sim to be finished , you still need the critical voices.

Looks like but the joke is what MSFS flies like , that’s the real joke .

I like your comment a lot as it highlights the point that the people with blinkers on tell us to have faith in the Long term development of MSFS and that X Plane can RIP but they forget that XPlane also have a long term development pipeline and thus has been made clear with the revolutionary Vulcan API upgrade in X Plane 11Beta . We can be certain X Plane won’t be standing still and it’s game on again in the flight sim world. As much as I am disappointed with this half arsed MSFS the upside is that it has a lot more potential and it will drag or push the other flight sims along with it .

I saw a comment that someone had bought Aerofly and MSFS 2020was their first flight sim but they wanted … a helicopter and VR. It’s good our hobby is being expanded even if personally from a function viewpoint MSFS has been personally disappointing to me ( that’s my opinion not a statement of fact and does not require the usual nasty attempts to invalidate from whom I call are the “ yah boys”.)

Opinion complete let the slanging match begin …

your kidding right?
Displaying 2K Res im getting 40 ish frames in big cities and up to 70 ish frames out of them. Everything on ultra, X-plane can only dream about pushing/crunching/displaying all the lovely details/textures.

Actually I get over 140 FPS in the X Plane Beta, my frame rates doubled .

Furthermore my Vive Pro gets to work at the full 90hz which is 45fps per eye , it’s wonderful and for a flight sim you don’t need anymore than 45fps as it’s not a FIrst person shooter .

I also don’t have any frame rate issues in MSFS, frame rates are not the MSFS issue for me , it’s the lack of functions.

People are also free to express an opinion , you don’t have to read posts like this if you find it so distressing .

I agree that the ‘complainers’ are a minority but it seem suspicious to me that IMO they want to be extremely vocal on this forum in many threads, as if in an organised way (i.e. let’s start a thread and complain together) even after they stated that they got their money back or despite the fact that they can get their money back. It does seem strange that they call you ‘dude’ if you disagree with them, as if the 'trolling is organised in the USA. I ask myself why they don’t go instead of staying and making ‘x-plane is better here, there blah’ post and even resorting to insults and personal attacks contrary to the forum rules when you give an opinion that differs from theirs. It gives me the impression that they desperately want(ed) F2020 because they have been unhappy for many years with the sim they were using and expect MS/Asobo to read their posts and immediately give them what they want , or do it to get newcomers to switch to their sim in order to keep it alive. As an x-plane/P3D user, I can say that FS2020 is IMO already the best flight sim, will get even better in the future and will have millions of users around the world . One that will appeal to all age groups and greatly benefit the flight sim community. So I say be patient folks and don’t listen to the moaners

You might be onto something here. I also heard the NFL and the russians are involved with satellites and stuff.

Are you one of those that call people dude?

Just so they don’t come after me, dude

Wow you seem really afraid of Russians. Let me come back to about you being scared by the Russian later. Having a wonderful flight at the moment, then need to attend to my Grandmother responsibility and see to my grandson, puberty behaviour - always acting like a childish adult. I’m sure you will understand. If I am not back early enough please share your contribution with other readers.
If you have already said goodbye before I come back , no problem for me

My pleasure, ma’am

OP: Don’t get why you feel the need to make a specific reference to Xplane 11 after stating that you don’t like / appreciate the current state of MFS2020. Just say you don’t like it, state your reasons and move on. Let the rest of us who enjoy the sim discuss constructive ways to improve and provide feedback to the developers. Instead, so many including myself are spending time and energy addressing pointless posts like these. What the likes of you are doing is fuel the fire for potential retaliation when Xplane 12 comes out. We’re better than this.

Excellent summary, @CatchySwing5372, points well made. I have both too and agree with your perspective completely. I generally fly GA, and MSFS 2020 has renewed by interest in flight simulation after getting addon burnout on X-plane… still love it though. Right, now every flight sim hour is spent enjoying the gorgeous scenery we have out of the box with MSFS.
