I’ve been away from the sim for about a week now and today when I tried to launch, it will not launch. I’ve tried both normal and safe mode and removed everything from my community folder. It starts up and while in the loading process it just stops and goes to desk top. I have tried multiple times with no luck. Is anyone else having this problem or can anyone suggest solutions? It worked fine last time I was on. I’m using the Steam version.
Thanks,
Doug Watson
Hi!
Store version or steam?
Did you try the repair function?
Did you try to delete something from the official/steam folder and restart the sim?
Scott
Check the Windows Event Log for a detailed description of the crash. Sometimes that will give you a hint of what the problem is. From the start menu, run the Event Viewer. Once it is up, select Windows Logs\Application and look for the Error events. One of those should have been generated when MSFS crashed.
If the Event Log doesn’t give you a hint, the next thing to do is run Windows Updater and make sure you are up to date. You might also consider reinstalling your graphics driver. If none of that fixes the problem, launch an admin command prompt and run “sfc /scannow”. That will verify the integrity of the system files and fix any problems. You can also run “chkdsk /f” to fix any issues that you might have with your disk. If none of that helps, it is probably time to reinstall the sim.
