ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
Afterburner effects, like on the F-18 and third-party content, react far too slowly to throttle changes and are not bright enough.
If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
F-18 Super Hornet
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Load up the F-18 Super Hornet on a flight.
- Throttle to max (and turn afterburner on if it isn’t already).
- Notice the very slow fade as it kicks in, and the dim light it produces in the engines when active.
- Reduce throttle below afterburner threshold. You should notice the afterburner stays active for quite a while afterwards before it dims out to nothing, which is not accurate. The response times should be almost instant as it was in 2020.
Note that these issues affect other aircraft (i.e. third party content) with afterburners as well.

MEDIA
MSFS 2024 Afterburner Bug Demo.mp4 - Google Drive - A video demonstrating the bug. Notice how slow the effects are, and how dim the light from the afterburner is. Compare this to 2020. Third party aircraft have a slightly brighter afterburner light, but the effect being far too slow is the same.
