MSFS 2024 Aircraft lineup

I wouldn’t count on that until Jörg confirms it. As far as I remember he has not talked about that yet and just said that he could not talk about editions during the interviews at FSExpo this year.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of local legends/famous flyers that have been bought with that discount vs. others.

I’m pretty sure he said they’d do something like that in one of the first dev streams where they talked about 2024.

I really pay attention to all interviews and Q&As and don’t remember Jörg talking about any discounts. Actually he said they were still figuring out pricing and versions.

It’s best to wait for the official announcements regarding pricing and any potential discounts for MSFS2024.

Personal Comments and Observations

The license tiers (and what’s included in them - i.e., Base, Premium, Prem-Dlux assuming they retain the naming) haven’t been announced. It’s best folks keep their powder dry (and keep saving those pennies).

If you live in the U.S., Aviation is definitely NOT out of touch for the average person.

If you’re really interested in learning to fly, I highly recommend checking out some of the flying schools in your local area. You should be able to get your PPL for on the order of $10K, and rent planes on the order of $160 - $200/hr. Owning an airplane is on the order of $100K for the airframe and likely $6K / yr or so in maintenance (huge variance in price here depending on your requirements), but you can reduce that cost significantly by buying into a flying club.

Funny thing is I put the money aside last year the day it was announced. But then I ended up getting tired of waiting to see what I had saved for and spent it this summer. Given that we’re about two months out, I’ll be committed to buying just the base sim this time around. It’s a shame they weren’t able to tell us what each tier would bring us earlier this summer, even if it couldn’t be a guarantee at launch.

Starting in September, you’ll likely find all the answers you’re looking for. it’s wise to never reveal too much, too soon.

Too late, unfortunately. That money’s gone and spent. I could have considered holding onto it if they had given me an idea what it would have gone towards, but it’s no big deal, I’ll be satisfied with base sim, and I’m glad that money ended up going to something I enjoyed.

If they touch my Pelican…

Jorg said in the presentation that 2024 is essentially everything from 2020 plus more.

Would be weird if that didn’t include aircraft.

It’s funny I’d be actually be more excited about having a default a220 than a 737 max but at least we’re getting a 737 max 8

Yeah, would have loved to see a default A220 but am looking forward to piloting the MAX 8!

And still wishing Carenado would do the B1900D or Saab 340 as a default aircraft-after all there’re the ones behind the default PC-12.

Since the dev livestream is now confirmed for 25 September, I guess we’ll have some of the answers relatively soon.

Who knows… I don’t doubt they have an A220 in their plans.

Will it have Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System I wonder.

Let’s hope that wear and tear simulation does not only get the plane dirty. I’d love to see a tire blow up while breaking

I’d hope so.

Agree that would be fun, I understand that we highly wont has crash physics as alot of planes in 2020 are partnered so i assume the same for 2024, but Tires blowing up, decrease braking, whoops ive forgotten to turn off my master battery, next flight battery is dead and needs charging/replacing a bit like what black square does

X-plane scenery graphics are poor, but their added visual effects are way ahead of msfs. Engine flame outs, tire burning and more. Microsobo needs to step it up
