Only tried a few planes, some work but Cessna 172 silent… shame as that’s my go to! Other sounds come through fine, including sirens on the ground in the cities.

Talking on Xbox, when you uninstall a game, your progression is save on the cloud, so no worries. When I downloaded the game again, I didn’t have to do my character creation again, all my settings configuration were intact etc.

Uninstalled the game on Xbox and installed it again. Sounds on the 737max never returned

For me i turned off headphone simulation in the audio settings in game.
seemed to fix it for me also just got off so hopefully this fixes it for anyone else
Same for me. I am going through career, C172 and Optica are fine. But I don’t have sound on Bonanza.
I am on PC, everything else seems to be working.

I resolved this with a reinstall (PC MS Store version).
I quickly went into career mode and it still works.
I would like to try the reinstall for sound and other issues but I’ve spent a lot of time configuring peripherals. Do you know if that data be lost and force me to start over?

Data is stored in the cloud! Just delete the game & re-install it! That’s a safe bet! But to be on the even safer side, I recommend taking a screenshot of all important settings.

The sound on the A321 was absurdly louder than the other planes (lol- maybe I am not use to it, idk, it felt strange).
Similar note- is anyone experiencing slight sound stutters? I use Bluetooth speakers so maybe it is that, but every few minutes the sound goes mute, then resumes.
This works. The workaround is from Ini’s Forums for aircraft with no sound issues -
I guess the alternative is a re-install. Downside is maybe having to go into each aircraft with missing sounds folder to delete the sound file.

Thanks for the contribution everyone. Until now I’ve tried most if not all possible fixes in this thread, still doesn’t work. I play on PC / Steam.

So i ended up following the suggestions > redownloading completely, running exe as admin, and my C172 actually had sounds! Super thankful to everyone here.
Confirming reinstall worked for me on Xbox x. Even kept the few controller settings I had made!
I don’t have any sound on the default 737 Max on Xbox but all the other aircraft seem okay.

TLDR
Delete addon or just Sound folder from StreamedPackages
The problem is, MSFS could have problem with downloading the sounds at the time of servers shenanigans. Game need just to redownload addon or part of the addon
Im proposing to delete entire contents of StreamedPackages folder or at least all aircraft addons
